The Old Tomes
I just read about how the quest system transition is going to work and that eventually the old tomes will be retired. I don’t really see the point of this. Many games have challenge features that take a significant amount of time to complete, but many take that time to finish them for the satisfaction of it all. The grind is what makes it enjoyable at the end of the time. I really think it’s a slap in the face to players to remove the tomes. For new players wanting to grind, and for old players who have successfully completed many tomes. If there was only one thing players could change or keep with new updates approaching, I know it would be to keep the old tomes safe.

The old system would then also require maintenance, bloating up costs for BHVR. Would you pay for it?

Would it? If they're never adding anything to it, there would be extremely low need to ever fix anything with it, right?
I'm with OP, I think they could easily keep the old tomes around. They don't exactly need maintenance as far as I can see.

Well if you dont think they should ever need to fix anything, Please do a Search for the Word 'challenge' in the bug report section.
Then you can see the problem with your own eyes. Its an objective fact that it takes time, work and money to maintain.I don't think BHVR is in the business of keeping a decrepit old system alive for whatever fun we might have in it. 1% of players etc.
