Does Trapper need escape attempts?
I was just thinking on how the trap escape mechanic is kind of stuck in a very old version of the game. the change to a more standardized kind of rng helped but I think Evans traps still have too much of a chance to just screw you over on chance. If an injured survivor escapes on the first attempt theyre out in 1.8 seconds. It takes Evan 2.5 to set it down. if its used on an injured survivor its kinda crazy that youre technically behind on time. sure its not so directly a .7 second loss because youre setting traps up in advance, but the point is more that you have basically a 16% chance of your power doing nothing on successful hit.
The escape attempt mechanic made more sense when Luck offerings were a thing and they affected the chance of leaving traps, but now it just feels kind of arbitrary. I think a better solution would be just entirely switching to a timer based mechanic, equaling in time to about 3 or 4 escape attempts. If you wanted to keep it a little more active you could even add Skill Checks (which would then synergize with trappers Unnerving Presence perk). It wouldn't shoot him up the ranks but I think it would go a long way towards fixing the biggest pain point with the killer, the fact that a successful use of your power might generate a loss in pressure especially if an injured survivor escapes on first attempt.

- Untraping self should be a hard skill check or suffer a deep wound

Escaping a bear trap should be like a plain 7s. The luck aspect screws both the Trapper and survivors.

It's probably for the beśt to remove this.

Yeah, escaping traps should just be a flat number of seconds. I don't think the RNG on bear traps has ever been a positive for the game.
Maybe they could also use this to fix the "no basekit penalty for getting trapped while injured" problem, if you get trapped while already injured a self-rescue could take twice as long.

My only issue with this idea is it being subject to ping and/or lag for many players.

I think self untrapping should be dangerous BUT you should be able to do it one check.

I would also like it if the trapper got haste whenever someone is caught in a trap, since he may be nowhere near the trap at the time. If he's headed to the trap he might make it, if he's in a chase, he gets an advantage that way.
