Sadako Addon Buff/Rework Suggestions
This isn't really one of the big "thorough and comprehensive" posts I do sometimes, I've just noticed a few addons I think could be tweaked here and there. Sadako needs basekit changes as well, but those are a little outside the scope of this post.
Here's what I've got for Sadako:
Cabin Sign:
- Reduces the time it takes for TVs to turn back on after Projection by 10 seconds (was 4.5)
Notes: Sadako has access, currently, to a reduction of 11.5 seconds if she runs both addons that affect Projection cooldown. This already isn't particularly nuts, so I think it's fair to give her a slightly lesser version of that for just one addon slot to let cooldown reduction fit into more builds in exchange for not letting her exceed that by stacking the effects.
Well Stone:
- Was: Reduces the time it takes for TVs to turn back on after Projection by 7 seconds
- Now: Hitting a survivor immediately after Projection turns one random TV back on
Notes: Sadako used to have a more souped-up version of this as an iridescent, but as this version's much weaker, I think it's fair to have it be this rarity.
Yoichi's Fishing Net:
- Was: Survivors suffer from the Blindness status effect when at or above 4 Condemned stacks
- Now: Survivors suffer from the Exhausted status effect when at or above 4 Condemned stacks
Notes: The reasoning here branches from two linked statements. One, Sadako doesn't have much use for Blindness (outside of enforcing slugging, anyway), and two, Sadako doesn't have any Exhaustion addons, which she'd benefit from a lot more.
Since Condemned can (and should!) be managed with tapes, this feels like a fair effect to me.
Sea-Soaked Cloth:
- Was: Survivors suffer from the Blindness status effect within 8 metres of powered TVs
- Now: Survivors suffer from the Oblivious status effect within 8 metres of powered TVs
Notes: Users familiar with Sadako may recognise that this is the exact effect of the Rickety Pinwheel addon. Take your hands off the keyboard and sheathe your angry comment, I've not forgotten. I feel this effect is useful, but lowering it a rarity to make way for the next rework shouldn't be problematic.
Additionally, as stated above, Sadako doesn't have much use for Blindness. Removing both Blindness addons doesn't seem like it'd be a noticeable loss for her. Does anyone even use these?
Rickety Pinwheel:
- Was: Survivors suffer from the Oblivious status effect within 8 metres of powered TVs
- Now: Survivors suffer from the Exhausted status effect within 8 metres of powered TVs
Notes: Second verse same as the first, Sadako doesn't have Exhaustion addons despite being a killer that would very much benefit from them. This is also why the Sea-Soaked Cloth got this effect; while the Oblivious was useful, there's no way I could make this a lower rarity than that effect.
While this may seem on the surface to be weaker than Yoichi's Fishing Net, as that would be binary yes/no Exhaustion and this would only inherit the 7 seconds of lingering both the Sea-Soaked Cloth and Rickety Pinwheel addons maintain, it's important to note that this addon is much less avoidable and will affect survivors sooner and more consistently than Yoichi's Fishing Net, hence the higher rarity.

That's what I've got. It's not all that Sadako would use, and more addons could probably use help too, but these are the ideas I currently have lol.

Sadako needs basekit buffs rather!
I'd like to see those:
- TV will turn on after 20s when survivor switch it off
- TV wont turn off if Sadako projects through it
- Prejection spreads condemned mapwide
- Condemned per teleport up to 2 stacks
- Fully condemned survivor suffer from exposed
- All condemned stacks are now locked when hooked
- Hooking a survivor with a tape will now inrease all others condemned by 1
- After projecting, Sadako retains the speed boost for 6s

Well stone ✅. I really want old iri tape in whatever form back. It was my all time favorite addon in this game.
Cabin sign: Make it turn on TVs faster regardless whether a survivor or the killer turned it off. Then it would be good.
Yoichis Fisching net: Much better and it could finally be useful. Maybe they could add more status effects to different amounts of stacks.
Sea soaked cloth/Rickity pinwheel: The problems are the range and sadakos current design, which makes these addons pretty pointless. I would start by increasing their range to 12-16 meters, their effect also applies around a turned off TV in 3-4 meter radius and make the effects linger for a bit. Sea soaked cloth (blindness) would actually be useful if they changed that.
Rickity pinwheel: The problem is her lullaby. If they gave it the effect of hiding her lullaby as well and the above changes it could be good. I would like to introduce a new status effect for this one: silence. It causes the survivor to become deaf (hear nothing) and the visual heartbeat deactivates. This would fix the current issues of the addon.
Your exhausted effect sounds better than the blindness addon, but I don‘t think the blindness effect is bad.

I think the main thing they need to do is reverse the TV off time for the iri tape. Since Sadako doesn't even build up any condemn with this addon, and more mobility is its strength, it makes no sense to allow survivors to shut off her TVs for EVEN LONGER, and with pretty much zero risk of getting condemned.

I want for iri tape that you can teleport to turned off TVs, but doing so doesn‘t spread condemned.

The only addon change I REALLY want done is for her Iridescent Tape.
Like sure, if BHVR wants a gimmick for an Iri, that's fine but Iri Tape is so bad in it's current state that I'm shocked it's not a brown addon. Trading your pressure for survivors to keep your TVs off longer is a joke, even if you have infinite teleports. Can't really depend on it, especially with how some maps place TVs.The only way I see that addon getting better is if for trading off condemned via TVs, it also has 2 TVs turn on within 15 seconds of a teleport hit, and decreases the animation time of the teleport so you can start moving again faster.

This might be a little bit of a controversial idea but - I think mirror + newspaper should be at least partially basekit. Having to run two brown addons to have a semblence of a chase power feels bad.

Fishing net is okay because windows is hard meta. If they bring back more than 3 condemn stack locking in, it would actually be a super solid addon. She needs basekit changes rather than fishing net changes.
The TV projection turning back on addons are both 10% (hence their values). Just buff both of them to like 20% rather than adding a secondary effect to them.
Instead, rework iri tape back to 1.0 iri tape, right now it's literally the worst addon in the game.
As for others, all purple addons need a buff because none of them are worth running.
Distorted photo (aura read when you manifest within 16 meters) needs it's line of sight requirement removed. Wraith gets perma aura read on people for simply being cloaked with his addon, Sadako needing to manifest to get the aura read is already a downgrade, let-alone also needing the survivor needing to look at Sadako for it to activate.
Tape editing deck either needs a rework or survivors need to have a downside to holding a tape. The removal of a downside has made this yet another addon the actually nerfs Sadako by giving survivors free TV's to turn off.
Telephone needs it's time increased. With Dark Theory getting a buff, it makes no sense this addon be active for such a short time. It's the worst hinder in the game and is useless in almost every scenario before the haste changes, now it's completely useless.
VCR gets countered because of TV aura's. TV auras either need to be removed or they need to only be visible under certain conditions.
There are others like clump of hair. Another one where again, the basekit range should be lowered. It makes no sense that Freddy's visibility at range is shorter while you're awake than Sadako's is constantly. Running this addon on Sadako still give you twice the visibility range that Freddy gets basekit, it's just silly.
