Reintroduce hooks to 2v8 with pulleys and additional portals
When the killer hooks the survivor with new animation, instead of swapping for a cage, the closest hook will start to reel down its hook with a pulley through a portal on the ground to appear in front of the killer then reel it back up to make more sense and a seamless transition with the new animation while also possibly allowing new opportunities of sabotage to be added to 2v8 if a system like this is provided. With context provided, a scenario with this new hook system with the addition of sabotage, if a survivor sabotages the hook being reeled to the killer, will force the killer to walk to the next hook though it won't be as devastating as flashlights. It will allow those sabotage addons to be put to good use.

So a survivor on the other side of the map would be able to Sabo the hook and get that survivor back up? Where is the potential for counterplay on the killer's part for that? Especially if the killer has already moved away from the pick up location, as they probably have because there's no possible indication to them that the hook they didn't choose is being broken. And even if they added a noise notification or something for it, what are they supposed to do about it?
I like Sabo as an aspect of the game but I don't particularly miss it in 2v8, and this would be a catastrophic way to implement it. It sidesteps all of the interaction and trade-offs that make Sabo plays interesting.

Maybe I shouldn't of mentioned sabo, would rather just have the visual aspect and the return of hooks, I do see the safety aspect if the hook chosen was far and the killer would have to walk. I doubt you want me to provide more scenarios for you, though there are many hooks like in the regular game, if one is lost you'll have another especially if the hook was sabo 500 miles away in this scenario you provided and not the closest hook then the killer wouldn't have to walk far to just put survivor to the hook in next 3 feet away from him without worry of wiggle. though if it was closest hook it would probably a pain to walk far. The counterplay I believe would be impossible with portals unless the other killer was helping preventing sabo if closeby to hook. I was still thinking of aspects from core dbd into 2v8. I can imagine if you had to walk 500 miles then all 7 survivors blocked hook it would be a nightmare. The post would be too long for every scenario. I wouldn't kill the visual aspect with downvotes if the sabo part is too much if it not too much to ask as it is.
