Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Bring back Technician!

Let's be real, who actually remembers Technician other than it's Feng's perk? When was the last time it was used by someone other than a new player (besides me cuz I hold onto things of old)? Technician in it's current state is not good. It got shadow nerfed AGES ago to have really no benefit for the drawback. Any player that consistently is on survivor could identify why Technician is not a good perk. Even players who play killer more often know it's not a good perk.

In older patches of DBD, Technician used to be one of the most enjoyable stealth perks in the game (to me at least)! I know it mechanically did not silence the player's gen repairs but it may as well have! That silence allowed for aggressive stealth gameplay, like repairing a generator right underneath a killer's nose, building this tension on whether you will get caught or not. For me, I like to play the game as this tense game of hide and seek where you don't want to get caught but you need to achieve your objective. You need to take risks that may get you caught and Technician made that risk even more intense!

Simply put, I just want the perk to silence gen repairs again. I feel THAT benefit is worthy of it's drawback, plus it would be a stealth perk that would continue to encourage the players using it to work on generators. And to be clear, I don't want gen progress silenced, just a Technician user's repair noises. I want to have fun with this perk again! (It would virtually be the same perk, just silent repairs would make the game fun for players who enjoyed the aggressive stealth play)

if they do that then they can also revert Tinkerer, i think thats a fair exchange

It should block your aura while you repair a gen.

That would be great in this overrevealing times.

The former stealth was great but sadly to many people here cry about it and consider everything other than constant chases bad.

The game is moving little by little away from its roots. (which made it popular)

I don't have any qualms with old Tinkerer so if it got me to have fun with Technician again, I'd be happy!

I don't know about other changes to the perk. I mostly will let the devs decide if they fully change it. I do kinda dislike the idea of blocking auras. I agree that it would be an appropriate change during the current meta of DBD but I just want the fun of silent repairs. Everything is so aura and chased focused currently (another statement I agree with you) that I think a perk that would aid in practical stealth would still be more enjoyable, even if it's not as good

I mean I started this game as a killer main during The Twins Chapter so idk if Old Tech was still live during that but yea i wouldnt object to old tech. it would frustrate me on some games sure but wouldnt be the worse perk to go up against as killer

    Stealth is not wanted anymore.

Even if you are silent the killer just sees you sitting there with his 20 aura perks...

I can't exactly remember if old Tech was up during that time but it honestly is not as "scary" of a perk as you're thinking. It did make gen repairs silent but Killer players still will see the generator 90% of the time, especially considering the gen placements of today's updates. There are rarely gens that have no sight lines and it doesn't make the player invisible. Killer players would just have to be more reliant on sight again, instead of volume being at 100% nowadays (it seems recently)

Tbh, I understand why you think that. And I agree that the game has moved away from stealth but I am not suggesting a true STEALTH perk. Technician forces gen repairs to gain value. You physically cannot play a true stealth gameplay if you want value from it. I'm talking an aggressive stealth gameplay style, almost like Hitman or Assassin's Creed. You don't just sit there and stealth, you just want to evade and kite the killer's sight while completing objectives.

    Completely agree with you.

I always liked stealth gameplay - and yes, you have to repair and you should be more save with this perk imo. Therefore the aura blocking would be great.

You have almost no real aura blocker anymore.

And i hate it when i hide or surround the killer sucessfully and then just get revealed and found.

The only ok aura perks where the originals like BBQ or bitter murmur. All new ones could be deleted.
