if 2v8 was good it wouldnt have permanent 5x incentive bonus
the mode is flat out boring for survivors and loses any interest factor after a couple games of it as killer
what it does do, however, is empty the queue for normals of casual survs who want their instant queues and 5x bloodpoints, meaning killer queues in normals takes forever and you are constantly up against juiced SWFs. the game is actively worse when this event is live

its literally the only time I play the game and enjoy it now, especially for survivors. The reason why 1v4 times take a hit is because most people enjoy 2v8 mode more than regular and they can play killer with friends. On 1v4 this is my average survivor experience. Load in. someone is tunneled. the remaining people are slugged. It is not fun. At least in 2v8 when Im slugged i can get myself up a bunch of times. Chases are funner. Dont have to worry as much about camping and tunneling. Its more casual and enjoyable.

What time do you play? I've been playing Myers quite a bit this week (normal mode obviously) around midday and my queues are like max 2 mins. Really nothing major. If you're playing in the evening though then most people are home from work and wanting to play 2v8 killer with a friend, which is why survivor incentive is so high. Nothing to do with the mode being bad, it's simply the only time people get to play the killer role with friends. Therefore there's a much higher need for survivors.

Well I had fun in it both sides…

Awful mode.
Queue up to 20 mins to play a 5 minute killer game? No thanks I've got better things to do with my limited ps5 time.
Hopefully it never rears its ugly head again until devs spend money improving loading times on normal mode.
Fifa and CoD you don't want to play a certain event no problem have instant access to another mode.
I get these are massive studios but surely DbD can spend some money on improving their game experience instead of churning out new survivors and killers.

I keep voting no, don't bring it back, but the majority always want it. lol

I love 2v8, but survivors need new and exciting abilities. It's no wonder that no one wants to queue for survivor when only killers receive new stuff. Not only that, but survivors actively had content removed (herbs) and the new item that survivors were supposed to get is a rare drop from chests.

I think I wouldn't have played if the incentive was there survivor side.
Love killer side though, they need to do more for survivor.1 -
Hard disagree, I enjoy playing Survivor and Killer more in 2v8 than in 1v4.

The only reason i played the mode was the bp bonus, it felt miserable when the bonus was only 200%, which was the last couple of days, actually made me go back to the regular queue. We should also be able to pip. Mode will likely flop if they remove the incentive for survivor

Yeah they need to just lock it to 400% and go higher based on dynamic demand. Anything less really isnt worth it for how terrible the mode is.

The simple reasons that 2v8 succeeds is because: -
- Killers get to play DBD with a friend.
- Killers get to play with powers that are proportionally stronger than normal in the 1 on 1.
- Survivors get wild and strong abilities far more outrageous than they normally have in 1v4.
- Despite being strong, the classes and powers are contained to a small selection, so doesn't facilitate overly oppressive and imbalanced perk/item/add-on combinations for both sides. (This is why Legion gets the hate they do, since their power edges into this issue).
- The self pick up, remote hooking, items only available in chests and the simple fact there are 2 killers doesn't allow slugging, tunneling or SWF squad bullying to be anywhere near as effective or prevelant.
- The aura reveals on unhooked survivors combined with the empowered killer powers means killers have an easier time finding players and downing, but Survivors have an easier time staying alive in the trial long term, making the game generally easier for all and generally more casual.
As such 2vs8 has less skill expression for both sides, but also allows both sides to feel powerful at various points. It's only issue really is the simple fact you need 8 players on survivor vs. the 2 on killer.
I would wonder, if you made no changes to killer powers at all, if 2vs6 might work as a more serious take on a 2 killer mode...
However 2vs8 is a mad cap causal romp not to be taken too seriously, which is why it succeeds... but there is a simple play count disparity. The experience of 2vs8 is wildly different for killer... it's pretty different to survivor, but not to the same degree, so you don't have the same influx of survivors you need from 1v4 to prevent such a disparity... but if 2v8 replaced 1v4... queue times would be fine.

I played mostly survivor in 2v8 as was more relaxing but wasn't much to show your skull pretty much did all the gens unless people were throwing or afk.
