Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Call Of Brine

With the most recent buff to Call of Brine, I think that it is on the right track to being a good perk again, however in this current buffed state I do believe it will still see little to no use, or even value.

After playing quite a bit of killer 2v8, I will say it was noticeable having the base kit feature of gens regressing at 200% speed when kicked to the point that it was actually viable to somewhat kick and regress that gen a bit even if you stop it right at 99%

Now given the new 8 gen kick limit, I don't see why Call Of Brine can't be similar to that sense in also being 200%?

I think then this perk would receive love in how often it's being run, as well as not become problematic like the old days since if the killer does try to 3 gen then they will just get absolutely screwed over after 8 kicks.

I'd say the one issue that could arise is the fact that you can stack if will Overcharge, however what I would like to see in turn is buff both perks too 200% regression and add a new guideline "Does Not Stack" to each perk.

This would make it so both perks are equally viable in their own way while not having to go anywhere near the old broken 3 gen meta of 400% regression.

How it was bad back then:

  • Infinite Gen Kicks
  • 400% Regression Was A Thing

Those combined + Old Eruption (Which nearly made me quit the game for surv cause omg that perk SUCKED to play against) were a problem.

I believe Call Of Brine and Overcharge were nerfed so hard as a strong effort to really remove that boring playstyle from the game, but in it's attempts it over-nerfed these two perks to the point of borderline 0 pick rate and uselessness.

Just by simply adding the limiting condition of "Does Not Stack" to the perks would make the 200% regression limit more than fine in the modern world of DBD for the reasons I explained above!

And for proof that 200% wouldn't be broken, there have been several iterations of 2v8 with it in play without that issue.

P.S. And while yes other gen regression perks do not exist in 2v8, 1v4 also does not have these giga buffed killers with several base kit add ons on, while still having to carry survivors all the way to hooks, with travel time to have to worry about. Which is the whole reason they do not exist in 2v8. So It would still all be fine.
