Matchmaking, MMR, whatever you want to call it

I would just like to know why the matchmaking in this game seems to be so terrible in terms of who you go up against. I know time played does not equal good but it does equal experience. For reference I'm just over 600 hours myself. So why do I consistently go against people with a minimum of 1500 hours? It doesn't necessarily seem fair that I should go against teams/killers that have significantly more time in the game than I do. These games always seem to be incredibly one sided and unfair, even in fun modes like 2v8 and chaos shuffle. It wouldn't be so bad but it is like every single game I play its like this. Is there just no one else playing the game, is the matchmaking just screwed, something else? I get that they don't want people to wait in lobbies searching for a game for 10+ minutes, though it didn't seem to be a problem in this most recent 2v8, but I'd rather go against people similar to my skill level for more even/fun matches over these constant sweat fests. This is mainly just a vent post to be honest, I do really like the game but games are becoming more and more unenjoyable because of this recently.

Welcome to mmr past low. Now you are in with the sweats. You have to run meta builds are get stomped on as a rule now. It's not great. Sometimes you want a chill game

When people lobby dodge, MMR goes out the window when filling that slot in preference to speed. Something to pay attention to, not like lobby dodging yourself will help all that much since you never know if you queueing up will just fill you into a previously lobby dodged team. But it's better than staying in a lobby you know for certain will be completely one sided one way or the other.

MMR is arguably not that bad itself, it's not perfect, sure, but backfilling is the main cause of mismatches since the system will, if a Survivor or Killer leaves the lobby, ignore MMR rating in order to find a replacement quickly and make queues shorter.

Without backfilling, there would be a lot less mismatches.

MMR is, in of itself, very flawed though. You're not judged on your actual performance of the game. Its juts judged by if a survivor died or not (or if you sacrificed that survivor or not). That's all we get. I've had teammates loop killers the entire game because that killer REALLY wanted to tunnel them out and it got us an easy 3 man escape, but they die in the endgame so its considered a full loss for them but I won. There's a lot more to the game and everyone's skill levels than killing/escaping. Even in the perfect timeframe where you get a fast queue on both sides and no search criteria is widened, its still not accurate at all.
