Do you think Darth Vader would fit into the world of Dead by Daylight?

The layer of General Grievous episode in the clown wars certainly counts as horror lmao

absolutely not. idc if he's scary, i don't want soyboy slop in this game

tbh, Abeloth would be sick to see lol. Im not to sure on Vader, im 50/50, but star wars can def fit in dbd, anything that has horror potential can fit in dbd, IMO ofc.

I don't think he'd work in this game at all. Totally different franchise from a different genre, plus I imagine working Disney would be genuinely awful and not worth the hassle. We still got a lot of horror franchises that BHVR can poach from yet.

Honestly; no. Not only because SW really isn't horror-adjacent at all but because Vader would straight up feel corny in DBD. We already see him in enough crossovers as it is.

vader no but other SW characters maybe? really depends ig… and the whole force powers thing would be weird to implement correctly

Nah.
The devs are dancing around the line between horror and regular IPs, and I don't want them crossing that line THAT much.
THIS IS NOT FORTNITE.

Going against everyone else here, but honestly, yeah kind of.
Is he a horror character? No, definitely not. But does that mean he wouldn't fit? Also no, in my opinion.
While he isn't straight up horror, he still has potential to be scary. And I think that if a character can be stuck in a horror-like situation and come off as legitimately scary, then they would fit in fine.
Yeah the game should probably have stuck to purely horror licenses, but we are so far past that now that I honestly think Darth Vader would actually be scarier than a lot of recent killers. I remember when Tomb Raider was added people were freaking out that it isn't a horror license, and now everyone adds on "horror adjacent" to their list of requirements because, despite not being horror, she still fit into the game fine.
We've got Tomb Raider, Dungeons & Dragons, the Witcher, Nicolas Cage, and freaking Rainbow 6 in this game. This game being exclusively horror is long gone now.

he definitely has a spot, but i think some other horror licenses deserve the spot first
terminator and predator are a long time coming3 -
Darth Vader is both scary and scary-adjacent. Let's get him in!

While I don't think Darth Vader is a good fit for DBD I probably wouldn't be mad if it were to happen, however, as others have said, Behaviour should first focus on the horror licences that we don't have yet before introducing things like Star Wars

Vader would absolutely fit in DBD, as many others have said, the idea of it being a strictly horror game has long since been abandoned. When you have Nic Cave, Mr Puddles and bunny Legion…. yeah, say no more.
Vader is an iconic and rather imposing figure who definitely could play the killer role imo.

Absolutely not. Vader wouldn't fit at all and everyone would just be super bent that he's not powerful enough or that his force ability was crap. It's not worth that aggravation and gamble

I've said this elsewhere but I can definitely imagine Vader stalking Survivors in the fog to be a scary experience. He could fit.
But I do get why opinion is so divided on this. Vader is a huge pop culture icon. He's been parodied and memed on for decades. He has a presence that's long escaped the franchise that he originally spawned from.
I felt kinda the same way about Lara. She's the iconic poster girl for her generation of gaming, just like Pac-Man, Super Mario, and Sonic the Hedgehog were before her. I can tell myself that DBD Lara is the reboot version from the newer games, but that doesn't really matter when the cartoonish action hero Lara of the late 90's is the one that already occupies my brain. DBD Vader might be difficult to divorce from the wider pop culture Vader for a lot of people. I think part of the reason why Matthew Cote has discussed talking to Disney about Vader is to gauge if the DBD community would actually accept Vader being added to the game. From what I gather, the answer is not a yes or a no.

No.

Honestly I don't think "fitting into DBD" is that important. We're far past the point of DBD being solely horror.

In defense of "bunny legion". Just because something is big, pink, and grinning doesn't mean it's not scary. Must I remind you the franchise Robbie the rabbit is from… The whole point is he's out of place in a dreary hellscape. Anyway kind of off topic but I must defend the horror that is "bunny legion" because it is there regardless of if people see it or not.

I honestly hope this is what they intend when they mention Star Wars. Vader is the obvious first choice for a big bad from the franchise but I think a deeper cut like abeloth or even lesser known sith like nihilus would do numbers in the SW community. Get a bunch of passionate nerds to play your game via lore deep cuts and you might have players for life.. Just a thought.

There would be pros and cons…. but overall DBD has almost run out of Horror/Slasher "icons" so reaching out to other themes would bring in other types of people
I can see him being brought in after his fight with Luke… and falling into the Fog… And his Power being able to throw his lightsaber and pulling it back also being a 110% (4.2m/s)
But then again they would have to re-work the game from the ground up

I personally don't think he matches but I felt the same about Vecna and he is one of my favorites now. I assume the DEVs could figure out a way to make him interesting to play and I would come around

If you said that some years ago, I would have agreed with you, but I think that DbD is too far into the Fortnitification process. Kaneki, Wesker, Trickster, and Skull Merchant aren't exactly scary and yet they still made into the game. I guess that any intimidating villain (or antihero in Kaneki's case) can make into the game.

No, we already have a killer who chokes survivors out as a Mori. Leave Sally alone.
Jokes aside, I don't really think, Star Wars is a universe that fits into DbD. There are so much more fitting universes/movies/franchises, but I am afraid it becomes some sort of money thing and they aim for the best selling stuff, which obviously isn't the niche franchises (like Art the Clown e. g.), but the big ones.
