One more week…
We are officially one week away from the Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter being released on live servers! What are you most excited about for the chapter or the update in general?!

The chapter itself, Springtrap. Been wanting it since 2016 :)
When it comes to other changes they are doing, Go Next Prevention. It ruins like 1/3 matches for me.
Also Bulk Bloodpoint spending i think was probably one of the first things i would want from a Quality of Life update, glad they were able to implement it so well.
Very excited, probably the best update since i started playing in 2021.5 -
While I worry about it and how it'll work out, Bulk Bloodpoint Spending is Hands down one of the best QoL changes incoming for us.
The thing I worry about is whether or not it's gonna spend too many BP's to reach lvl 50 (current Avg is around 800k), and whether or not its gonna be completely random with the Add-ons/items/offerings it puts in the inventory, or if it will consistently give us a set amount of each rarity (eg. 6 UR, 12 VR, 24 R, 48 UC, 96 C). Didn't see many videos of people testing this in the PTB since they were too focused on Springtrap.
Concerns aside, it's definitely a win either way.

While I am not a Fan of FNAF, I have to admit it will be neat clanking around in a metal suit. Animatronics are freaky in general tbh. Bulk Blood Point spending is a MUST. I am so very excited for this truthfully. This could not have come soon enough. The rest of the QOL features I am excited about and eager to see how they function in dbd after the update goes through. :D

The chapter!
I disliked the axe, that I admit, but I've been a FNAF fan since day seven, found out about it a week after the first game's release, and I really love the franchise.
11 -
I just wanna know what other cosmetics are coming besides springtrap/gitchtrap/toxic springtrap/clown springtrap and t shirts

Fire Axe: "Truly, a weapon for madmen. Who else would fight fire with a blade?" -VTM: Bloodlines, weapon description.
Just a funny description in a much older and unrelated game. Honestly I don't have any issues with it, even if it only fits because it was part of some FnF fan fic or whatever. In the PTB it was GOATed.

you been wanting him since 2016 but started playing in 2021…………..you making up lies bruh lol
-5 -
I knew about Dead By Daylight since it launched and i saw springtrap concepts in late 2016 for the game. But i didn't play dbd because it didn't interest me enough because i was already playing Friday the 13th at the time. I only decided to pick it up in 2021 because i was suprised it was still alive and the All-Kill chapter interested me. So i say best update since 2021 because that's how long i've actually been playing it for.

I'm excited for the chapter itself, but I also think the mori rework can't come soon enough, I keep finding myself thinking "if 9.0 was already out, I'd be able to mori this person and be done with it instead of hauling them to a hook" or getting in the awkward situation of the sacrifice animation starting, so it IS probably going to be faster to wait for that then do the mori, but me and the slugged survivor still have to wait around for a moment. That stuff getting cleaned up is going to be great.

Probably the Vecna buffs. They will boost him to A tier and make him a strong but perfectly balanced killer. Very much looking forward to playing him and hopefully against him. But I am also fairly excited for Springtrap as well.

Do they really? I almost feel like he'll be the same overall.
His cooldowns are lower but i still feel like it doesn't make a big difference, if you're chasing an injured survivor and both mage hand and fotd are on cooldown i'd still consider it a lost chase.
Fly goes further and is faster but because of the increased attack cooldown + nerf to the add-on, it doesn't seem like it's anymore lethal.
Mage Hand got fixed to the detriment of Vecna, pulling up a pallet no longer has the possibility of blocking survivors from immediately pulling it back down.
Dispelling Sphere buffs are good no doubt about that.
But unfortunately the other miscellaneous stuff he got that are add-on nerfs and magic item buffs overall is a sizable nerf.
I honestly don't believe vecna was buffed, unless i am missing something, but it seems more like to me that they were just cleaning up a lot stuff, biggest one being his mage hand "gambling".1 -
The 5 second cooldown reductions are definitely a buff in my opinion. Having your spells up more often is going to be a good thing, especially fly.
And talking about fly, it's definitely buffed as well. You can catch up much more effectively to survivors now, the small cooldown nerf does not completely counteract that aspect. And it's now also going to be better for applying map pressure.
Mage Hand I can't say. I thought that pulling a pallet back down on Vecna would now be impossible because of the longer block duration, but maybe that's not the case? I'll just have to wait and see how that change plays out. Honestly, if Vecna was still forced to use Mage Hand on prediction instead of reaction, in order to prevent survivors from dropping the pallet on to him again, I would be very happy.
He is not going to be S tier or anything but that's a good thing in my opinion. I think he'll be a perfectly balanced, solid A tier killer that will still be fun to play as and against.

I don't think I'm really that excited. His power is just a modded version of huntress with xeno teleport and he's kinda tough to play as
1 -
The cosmetics. THE COSMETICS!
3 -
I WILL be buying the legendary yellow rabbit Matthew Lillard skin for Springtrap the nanosecond after I buy Springtrap!
1 -
I can't wait for the FNAF chapter to release! Springtrap will be my new main for a while, and I will P100 him. I hated when the PTB ended! It has been hard to wait since then.
I have my Auric Cells ready for the release. The cosmetics look nice!
2 -
I'm probably not gonna play much of the killer til kb/m support hits console, but definitely gonna enjoy that bulk BP spending. I've been sitting on around 5mil for awhile now... I take afew minutes to dump afew hundred thousand once it gets full, then play afew games... Being able to quickly dump it all if I want would be awesome.
3 -
My wallet will be empty after the FNAF cosmetics drop. Even if the power isn't everything I wanted and the map building is smaller than I would've liked, this is still the fantasy that popped into my head at 10 years old when I saw Halloween get announced, and wondered if they'd get other horror franchises involved. 2025 is shaping up to be one of the crazier years in recent memory.

i just hope they rework the map to get rid of the recycled and imo low effort forest otherwise its perfect. I'm excited
2 -
As long as they revert most of Artist's addon changes i'll be happy.
4 -
The 500% bloodpoint bonus that survivor is going to get due to the 30 minute killer queues.
10 -
I hate to admit this, but I'm a FNaF fan. He may just replace my p100 ghostie as my main.
0 -
Yeah, and when you play survivor, nothing but Springtrap games for the first couple of weeks. Probably a good time to just take a break from the game altogether.
0 -
The Vecna buffs. Don't really care about FNAF and I've never been one for projectile killers. More looking forward to September and November.
0 -
Let´s hope so :-)
I am also already imagining all the videos how insanly hard DbD is from all the new players that will be tortured by veteran killers.
0 -
Itll be fun for sure!! Also hey I am online if you need a friend in the fog! :)
1 -
This is the one license coming to DBD that I do not get the hype for at all. I know so little about FNAF, I though the bear was the main character (I guessing he's the Freddy in the title?).
But I think the new map looks cool and I like a Killer that puts side objectives and other things to interact with on the map, so I'm kinda looking forward to seeing what those are about. I didn't watch much footage of the PTB or the live stream because I don't care at all about FNAF, so it will be fairly fresh to me when it comes to the live servers.
3 -
Yes, Freddy Fazbear. The first game didn't have much of a plot besides the animatronics come to life at night and come after the security guard, so you have to watch the security cameras and lock the two doors to the security room when they are near (can only lock one at a time) and manage the really shady battery that runs the whole system. It was later games they fleshed out the story, the animatronics are possessed by the ghosts of children that were killed by the serial killer owner of the franchise. Springtrap is HIS suit.
If you want to get a "crash course" watch the movie. While it's not perfect, it will give you a pretty good idea of the story to understand why Springtrap is the killer and not Freddy. Also, the Matthew Lillard skin is from the movie, as Lillard plays Springtrap (William Afton) in the movie.2 -
lock the two doors to the security room when they are near (can only lock one at a time)
You can close both doors at the same time, actually. Sometimes it is needed.
1 -
Oh yeah, I'll probably watch the movie some day. I can imagine Matthew Lillard probably makes it a pretty fun watch.
1 -
" why do people keep consuming new content in a live service game???? the audacity!!!!"
I think those players need to play Oblivion or something and not multiplayer
-1 -
I don’t mind new content - I’m just going to be sick of facing the same killer every match. Happens nearly every time a new killer is released for the first couple of weeks. The other option would be for me to just play killer, but everyone knows the killer queue times will be super long. It’s a lose-lose unless you really enjoy facing the same killer every match.
1 -
Yea, we can appreciate and understand the desire to play the new content, doesn't mean it doesn't get stale fast. At least they all go to a happy medium with others after a few weeks (except Wesker…)
0 -
Yeah, it's gonna be a borefest versus the same killer over and over. 500% won't even be enough if it's awful, like The Ghoul, with 99% of matches being him.
1 -
Go next prevention for sure. Having all the insta-suiciders on the first hook getting constantly banned for their jackassery will be fantastic.
0 -
i excited for a new stealth killer even though he'll be weak when people figure out he's an m1 if he misses
0 -
I CANT WAIT FOR THE GAMMA SETTINGS. Oh and Springtrap obviously
0 -
It'll be hilarious watching killers wait 30 minutes to play the new P2W killer.
Bulk spending is the only good change.
-4 -
new map i guess, it looks fun? but i might be wrong.
don't care about anything else.
0 -
Or bring a Shiny Coin every game so everyone gets pissed.
2 -
Springtrap is nowhere near p2w
6 -
😄🤣
2 -
I'll play for a couple days then probably take a break purely because every survivor game will be against Springtrap and every killer game will have crazy long queues. I know they said there will be a separate queue for the new map so that might help keep normal queue times down.
2 -
I dont like FNAF or anything related to it, but i am looking forward to the bulk bloodpoint spending and the go next preventation. The hook suiciding is getting out of control and im glad its finally getting looked at.
I'll be playing my spirit and Rize while everyone else is playing springtrap i guess 😂
0 -
I felt skeptical at first but I'm now very interested to play the killer, BHVR did a good job
1 -
that's a "go next" mentality if I've ever seen it
5 -
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣THATS WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I READ THAT
0 -
I’m really looking forward to the stat tracker.
Like, I know I’m supposed to say my favorite thing is that the Go Next, anti-hiding, and DC penalty updates, are all going to improve the quality of solo q games……. but I’ve really wanted that stat tracker for like forever.
1 -
You and I tend to be on the same wave fr. We locked in gang this is genuinely the most depressing part abt the dlc imo…
1 -
I don't know if you've played the PTB or not, but I played it every day until it was taken down, both as a survivor and as Springtrap. I found it enjoyable for both sides. There's no way this killer is PTW; not even close. He can only throw his axe once before it goes on cooldown (he is slower while carrying the axe), and he can teleport, which hardly makes him a PTW character.
I'm just curious: why do you think he is PTW?
