Death Slinger
The Deathslinger’s harpoon going through walls makes no sense and makes him overpowered
The Deathslinger’s power — the ability to shoot a harpoon and reel in survivors — is already unique and dangerous. However, the fact that his harpoon can pass through solid walls defies logic and disrupts fair gameplay balance.
First, from a realism standpoint, a physical harpoon shot from a modified rifle should not be able to pass through solid obstacles like walls, rocks, or structures. In any realistic scenario, a harpoon would get stuck, ricochet, or be completely blocked. Allowing it to phase through these surfaces breaks immersion and makes no physical sense within the world of the game.
More importantly, from a game design perspective, this gives the Deathslinger an unfair advantage. Survivors often rely on line-of-sight blockers to escape or create distance. If Deathslinger can still hit them through walls, their chances of escape drastically drop. It reduces the effectiveness of loops and cover, making the killer far more threatening than intended.
This kind of mechanic effectively punishes survivors for using one of their few defenses — the environment — and gives Deathslinger an overpowered edge, especially in maps with tight corridors or thin walls. For the sake of balance and consistency, the harpoon should respect physical boundaries in the game world. If not, Deathslinger becomes less about skill and more about exploiting an illogical mechanic.
