Maybe it's just me but springtrap doesn't feel good
His axe feels like… hilariously easy to dodge. Like straight up the easiest projectile in the game to dodge.
Survivors have zero reason to interact with the doors so that whole aspect of getting them out of the office just never happens. It's just a good map pressure tool.
The grab animation is essentially useless outside of 1 scenario. Because survivors just straight up remove the axe from themselves before you can even catch up to them, unless you literally throw the axe into them while already doing some bump and grind with them, to which atp… just hit em. It also doesn't feel like it even saves more time compared to regularly hitting them and picking them up, because the animation is so long.
It basically exists to ignore endurance, which is already quite the niche thing to do because you have to:
Step 1: Throw the axe while already close to them or else they will have ample time to remove it
Step 2: Waste time trying to get close enough (before they reach a window or pallet)
Step 3: Hope they have endurance so that it was actually worthwhile, otherwise you just wasted time
Cool animation! But, not at all practical.
But that's just early impressions.

You are kinda right with the grabs, but you are missing the point.
The door is a great map pressure tool and the security room grab is just a nice gimmick. Correct. But thats the intention. Getting reliably downs with that, would be insane. The grab with the axe is also just nice to have.
So, you are right, they just there to give the killer some flair.
But thats ok, bc you get a killer with good map mobility, undetectable and a strong chase ability.
Yes, the axe is a strong chase ability.
- Your goal is not to grab them. Most of the time you recall the axe to throw again.
- You switch to 115 when the axe is thrown, so throw it somewhere and recall it later.
- When your next to the survivor you throw instead of hitting bc you want a shorter attack cooldown.
- Close range its the same as huntress.
- You can see survivor behind walls with the axe.
- You can do some insane shots above walls, but they need a lot of practice.

The security room grab its the only way to get deviousness points clearly it was intended to happen a lot unless all those brutality score events for using the power are supposed to be deviousness

The grab also makes ur attack undodgeable like how people do that 360 spin and make people with controllers hit thin air, its not meant to be the main focus as u hit them with the axe so now u start phase 2 of the chase of downing in 1 of 2 ways, whichever comes first, and survivors do kinda panic trying go pull the axe out as they cant drop a pallet at the same time as they are pulling so its kinda like the birds from artist adding a slight distraction while running. And i wouldnt say the axe is easy to dodge, more that its harder to aim with its alien tail sized hitbox but its harder to read because it comes out too fast

I think you dont know the devs well. Some killers getting a lot more point in one of the categories or even the emblems is completely normal. They dont want it to happen, but it happens quite often.
But this is so extreme, they will probably fix it quickly.
Just think about it: how unfun would be a match if a killer tries to get max deviousness like that.

More than that, when you grab survivors with the axe you become slower and you need more time to hook them. I don't see any reasonable reasons to grab them like that as well. The cameras are awfully useless, it is always better to just repair gens than trying to spot Springtrap on cameras (and it is also too risky by the way). Using doors is great only when you know Springtrap is in the chase or he is hooking another survivor, so on high rank i cannot just see office jumpscare animation, it doesn't exist for me, survivors won't ever use these doors. Feels like the devs paid too low attention to the gamedesign side, I cannot imagine how some of them could think that using cameras in this way can be useful in any way, there are a lot of other examples how you can make interaction with a killer's power useful and neccessary to survive- the Pinhead with the box, Nemesis and Wesker with the vaccines, the Pig with the bear traps, Sadako with the TVs and so on, and Springtrap's power is not in this list of course.
I think just throwing an axe is too plain and there should be given more attention to the doors and interactions with cameras which theoretically can make their using neccessary for survivors. So yeah, i would agree that Springtrap not only doesn't feel good, we need to be more objective here, he is bad, repetative and absolutely not unique, made without any gamedesign effort. (not to mention the new plain map and no survivors in the ANNIVERSARY chapter, which is objectivelly the worst ever)0 -
doesnt help his addons are just terrible now… haste? lol got nerfed into oblivion. bonnies guitar strings? cuts your undetect inhalf IRI remnant? eh only blocks pallets now and the rest doesnt do anything of value…
