Why is the axe throw cooldown so long?

Hello! Really loving the chapter so far but I find it’s really rough after using the axe sometimes, I literally can’t even vault for like 3/4 seconds I’m standing there like 🧍. (what is the exact time??) I understand it’s probably to prevent insta downs at hooks but it just feels really clunky and survivors can get decent distance, it’s a trend a lot of killers have.
