New AFK/non-contributing crow system is terrible and punishes legitimate play
The new AFK crow system is far too liberal in who it gives a crow. There is basically no discernment between stealthy survivors trying to help their teammates (or stay alive if they're being tunneled while on death hook by hiding, therefore helping the team) and non-contributing teammates.
For example, I was in a situation with two gens left and one other survivor left, with me on 1 hook and them with 2 hook states on the hook, and they were letting themself die so I could maybe get hatch, as the game was unsalvagable, but the new AFK system put a crow over my head, ruining both of our chances to escape, and we both died. Moving around your teammate to be ready to flashlight save them also results in unwarranted crows sometimes, and so does moving across the map to heal a teammate on death hook.
This new system is very frustrating.
I have some suggestions to remedy these issues:
- Increase the time for crows to appear
- Disable crows when you're the only one left besides your teammate on the hook, and when you're the only one left
- Reset crow timer when in killer's terror radius (or near a killer in the case of killers with undetectable), so flashlight savers aren't punished
- Distinguish distracting play from AFK/non-contributing play, such as running around triggering deception on lockers to keep the killer busy
- Consider a survivor's matchlong contributions in evaluating if they are AFK or not contributing (e.g. if they have done 80 gen charges, they probably aren't hiding the whole match and are contributing to their team)
- Increase crow timer for survivors on death hook
- Disable crows for tunneled survivors for a long time (example of tunneled criteria: two hooks in two minutes)
Until these issues which frustrate a large portion of the playerbase can be remedied, I suggest reverting to the old AFK crow system.

My only addition to this is that there is not any clear way to determine who a tunnelled survivor is, due to things like Off the Record and Decisive Strike being used offensively instead of defensively. Disabling crows for them also would not help them in this situation.
