Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

New self-unhooking system

Why was this even added into the game. first the devs add the abandon button to 'go next' to counter slugging. Now the devs are changing self-unhooking to discourage going next? So the devs won't fix slugging but will fix players dying on hook? What about survivours who are trying to give their last unhooked teammate hatch?

Honestly, all they had to do was make it so trying to get off the hook does not progress stages:
- You get your two attempts to get off the hook. Failing does not progress the bar.
- For each failed attempt to get off the hook, you suffer a penalty (To be determined. Could be longer to be healed. Reduced repair times for a duration. Whatever). Just something to punish trying, so Survivors aren't expecting two 'free' escape attempts.
- In Stage 2, every failed skill check does not cause progression.
- Failing imparts another (Or the same) penalty.
- If a player runs at the killer to give up, repeatedly vaults/enters & exits lockers/anything else to throw the match; Those actions should be reportable under 'Unsportsmanlike conduct'.
Bam! No more 'Hook DCing' from salty players! And without a buggy system that is causing more issues than it solves at the moment.
