Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Nerf Springtrap

This killer is too strong. It needs a nerf.

The teleports being so close to main objectives is absurd to me. It's totally silent and I can't look at the door screen whenever he's coming out of that door. It would blink red but if the door is facing the opposite from me then how am I supposed to know?

The fire axe giving him bonus movement speed whenever he throws it away. His power being a faster recovery than basic attack. Undetectable lasts way too long. Using the teleport is insanely risky by getting grabbed immediately which no other killer power does. The Glitchtrap skin is pay to win since that skin makes you almost as silent as a injured Ada.

The most despiteful thing about him that he's probably better at tunneling than Pyramid Head. He just waits at the hook, hold his axe ready and the moment you're unhooked, and, at the right moment, he throws his fire axe at you then prompt to grab you or hit you with his basic attack. I am forced to bring Decisive Strike at all times but that's usually not enough when an experienced killer knows what to do.

Agreed to that, I think its very sour that you kind of HAVE to look at the panel to get full distance in a chase from the Springtrap.

I also think the Axe should automatically dislodge from a target that is being tunneled. It seems like an oversight to allow Springtrap to tunnel so freely when other Killers are bound on hands and feet with their anti-camp/anti-tunnel power caveats.

I think we need to wait with the Survivor teleporting until that audio fix hits. But this is great feedback imo.
I would give the same feedback.

Instead of learning how to resist the killers and their abilities, the survivors are constantly asking to weaken the killers they don't like.

Springtrap is the average killer. Compared to the Nurse, the Spirit, The Blight, and the Singularity, this killer is nowhere near as powerful as many people think.

In the games i had i experienced him as strong too.

But as i heard maybe a lot of this is related to bugs. Some should be fixed in the hotfix they said so we will see if it stays this way.

But this explains to me why he suddenly showed up silently and was on you on a gen so fast.

That's why springtrap has loud footsteps, to combat the stealth he has, at worst he's b tier & at best he's a tier, just gotta learn how to counter him, besides his axe makes him a m1 killer for a good while, more difficult to hit due to having fall off, since it has a similar hit box to huntress hatchets, treat it like them, trust me, it'll be easier to get away from if you do, minus the trick shots, those are always hit or miss

I think the only two nerfs I could potentially see him getting would be:

    • Slight movement speed nerf / cool down after throwing an axe like Huntress has (she slows to like 3.8m/s for 2 seconds or something along those lines) to allow people to actually make a bit more distance without getting immediately grabbed
    • Inability to teleport to doors near hooks, like Dredge has

Overall once the bugs are ironed out I think he's actually one of the more balanced killers they've released in awhile. Once people learn to do gens where doors are facing away early on and also use the cameras to reveal him, he'll be much more manageable.

We should really still be talking about additional nerfs to Ghoul; *that's* something with very little meaningful counterplay.

Agreed agreed agreed. Have now run into multiple Springtraps that will bypass anticamp by just returning to the same door near a hooked Survivor every 5 seconds to check if anyone is coming for a save. It doesn't matter how loud his footsteps are, or even if you can visibly see him (which, right now, you can't for a few seconds), he can just teleport quickly without cooldown. If not blocking a teleport to doors near hooked Survivors, maybe at least give a slowdown (taking more time to walk through the security office), like Xeno takes longer to exit a tunnel or Singularity takes longer to Slipstream or teleport to a Survivor next to a Hook.

Would also be nice if there was at least a little cooldown between you removing the axe from yourself/him recalling the axe from a Survivor (not the environment, just being embedded into a Survivor) and being able to throw it again. If you're in a dead zone you wind up screwed either way on whether to remove the axe. If you try, it slows you down and he catches up to you and grabs you. If you just run to try and chain to the next tile (and good luck in maps like Rotten Fields or Lampkin Lane) he has his 4.6 movement speed without axe in hand… and catches up to you and grabs you. More often than not they hit you with the axe from 4 feet away, and unless there's a pallet within 3 feet, you're screwed. Or they recall the axe and get to throw it again right away for an immediate down.

Springtrap has significant bugs, that will be resolved in the future. I'm sure then he will get way weaker by itself.

    BUGS:

→ He is invisible for 3s after leaving door

→ His haste add ons bug agitation that allows him to move at ridiculous speed (don't abuse that please, it's lame)

→ Some skins (Glitchtrap fe.) have muffled or barely heared footsteps - like were elk with lullaby.

→ He is not always 110 when axe is in his possesion

Loud footsteps don't mean anything when he can silently teleport two feet away from you with absolutely zero warning except for the tiny screen on the door that isn't even visible 80% of the time.

He's like high B low A tier max. He's mostly fine. The only things that need addressed are 1: doors right next to exit gates 2: the bugs like him being invisible coming out of doors.

Which is absolutely irrelevant because a lot of people been doing adept and let's be honest his perks are poop.
