Springtrap is the least fun killer to play against by far.
Background on me, I have over 4000 hours on dbd split between killer and survivor. I use to play comp dbd. I value skill expression and balance a lot.
With that said, I absolutely loathe playing against springtrap. Springtrap is the most braindead and skill-less killer in this game by a long shot.
Overall i dont think Springtrap is very high on the tier list, top B maybe low A.
Okay, lets start with the core issues. Springtrap has no punishments for messing up. Springtrap can zone for free with little to no restrictions. Springtrap's power has very little ability to react.
The biggest issues are that he hardly slows down when holding his axe and barely slows down when throwing it and doesnt slow down at all for canceling it. No slow down at all for recalling while almost all other killers have a very heavy slowdown to reload their power but instead of that springtraps gets a speed boost for missing or hitting to be able to reload for free whenever he wants. He can also pull his power and throw in less than a sec, which is similar to other killers except his power moves much faster than other killers like huntress being 5m/s slower with no charge, allowing for springtrap to be far less react-able.
Another big issue with this killer the audio cues/visible are way to quiet or nonexistent. Huntress or slinger for example it every easy to tell, when they pull their power and their when they use their power due to audio cues. Springtrap has those but they are very quiet making them near useable.
When throwing the axe it hard to see it making hard to tell where to dodge at range.
Teleporting while yes had visible cue via the flashing numbers which is nice and all but the problem is the front of the doors rarely face the gen, making that visible cue useless. and the Audio cue is when he comes out of the door, which he does at full speed giving the survivors only 1s to react which is sooo dumb, specially when compared to all other killers that have teleports like that. Dredge is the closest one to the speed of springtrap but dredge doesnt have lockers at every gen and the lockers can be locked, top it off dredge has a week chase power because teleporting is his main power.
I like how you guys tried to allow skill expression by making so you can throw up and over high wall loops but you have to realize no one and i mean no one plays like that. There is no reason to play like that since everything else is so free on this killer.

You can have your opinion, as i can have mind but kaneki objectively has a lot more counter play, as well as is a killer that requires skill. if you mindlessly use kaneki's power you wont ever get downs. Personally I prefer going against high tier killers like blight, billy, spirit, nurse, and drac but know a lot ppl hate those killers but they all require skill and get punished heavily for messing up.

I skipped release week due to the awful patch, but I'm playing against him now. I don't care for how close the doors spawn to the generators or when they're directly on top of hills, but the doors themselves are nice. More interactive than Demo, Sadako, and Xeno. The hatchets are overkill imo. All of the other issues are just DBD issues. He's not exactly innovative in terms of play and he's very easy to camp/tunnel/slug with. But thankfully he isn't a nightmare by default like Skull Merchant, Chucky, or Ghoul.

Well, zoning could definetly get nerfed, if he gets other buffs with it. I don't think he is strong enough to get direct nerfs.
Also have no idea how anyone can have thim lower than Kaneki, but sure…-1 -
I disagree only because Knight exists. But he might be second most frustrating killers to go against.
Knight:
→ You basically play whole game against bots and we know how frustrating it might be, same when zombies are constantly pushing you off gens triggering dms or camping hooks by good RNG. With Knight you literally hold w against bots and while there are ways to avoid them, it's still insanely boring not even talking about the guard one, knight other way for a free hit.
Springtrap:
→ Has one of most busted add ons ever with absolutely ridiculous rarity (guitar not being iri?, purple add on that grants you one kill every game because of constant 12s bloodwarden to every survivor within exit gate?, haste add ons that increase lunge drastically?, the 15s extra undetectable been blue?, the hard zoning while moving at almost base survivor speed while aiming, the doors touching gens, making it a free gen grab) and I can continue… Worse experience then Kaneki, sadly. And with all that even the killer is not fun to play (at least for me), it's just double iri huntress with no cooldowns that can teleport through map to get undetectable. I wish they'd do more killers like Unknown, Wesker or Houndmaster that are fairly strong while fun to play as well as are fun to verse and offer counterplay.

What I hate most is the inconsistency between new Killers and old Killers, I thought we had established that Killers needed a slowdown for failing to land their ranged weapons.
Unironically playing the new Killers feels too good play, and older ones feels like being forced through a wedgie to play them.
To play the old ones you fight against the mechanics to get a 4K and on the new you glide though your use and easily win.Practically I think BHVR has room to dial Kaneki and Springtrap's most annoying parts back, while also going back and adding utility and fun to the weakest and most boring of the Old Killers.

So you want louder warning bells and glowing projectiles to reduce the threat and make it easier to escape the killer…In an environment where gen speed is still ridiculous, endurance can carry bad players/turn good players into demi-gods, while it's demanded that killers play for hooks as the primary means of victory.
Sounds like a poor suggestion.

I don't understand why he sees the aura of his axe when a surv is carrying it? It's funny, you can't beat him in a loop.

it's probably because missing the axe isn't intended to just be a "failure" but a conscious choice that's sometimes meant to be appealing.
Huntress has zero reason to chuck hatchets in thr garbage can

I do agree here.
It is just not fun. I am not even talking about strength or weakness of the killer, that is not really the topic, is it? It is just unfun, which is horrendous for a videogame.
- The spawnpoints of the doors are either ridiculously near gens or around 78 corners on indoor maps.
- The killer is basically undetectable all the time. Sorry, but another stealth killer just was not needed.
- The hitbox of the axe seems weird very often. Shouldn't the same throw have the same result all the time? Sometimes it misses and sometimes it hits and there seems to be no consistency which makes it hard to actually "learn" counterplay.
- This whole "axe is stuck" mechanic is annoying. At least give survivors the point that getting rid of it doesn't reset every vault.
- The missing cooldown after throws is a bit much and that is put nicely by me now.
- Thankfully the audio bug is fixed. But seriously, that was awful at the start.
- Last point which is completely personal: I never played any FNAF, watched a FNAF movie or plan to do so. I couldn't care less about this license and the hype around it. And without all this hype, this killer just feels off, blunt and unnecessary. It is a bunny with an axe. As if we do not have a bunny with an axe in the game already. Yes, I know the gameplay is not like Huntress. But I am just pretty unimpressed.
It is a pity that the last two licensed killers basically are a turn off for me, especially because of the last point of the above. I could not care less for FNAF or Tokyo Ghoul and they are both too annoying to be appealing to someone with no bond to those franchises. Maybe less would have been more in those two cases. I mean BHVR did just fine with Dracula and Vecna. Those two have been designed with the right choices.
But regarding Springtrap and Ghoul: Give me Nurse and Blight the whole week instead. I want to have fun when playing DbD which is impossible against Springtrap and Ghoul.
