Spectate Icon

I think it would be nice for all remaining players to see a little eye-shaped icon in the top corner letting us know that one of the sacrificed players is spectating. It would also be nice if this icon would glow when they are spectating you directly. As an alternative, this could be a modification to the survivor status icons a at the bottom instead of a new icon altogether. (Perhaps a glowing thread connecting the viewer and viewee).

As a survivor, I might might try to perform a little more for my current “audience”. Less hiding, more running, greater risks, etc.

As a killer, knowing that a survivor is being spectated, I might try to be particularly vicious or devious in order to put on a good show.

Either way, this would be a very small, easy addition that would add a new mental layer of personal enjoyment while playing.

This would be interesting, I always wonder if dead people are watching.

I know it will never happen because it is such a bad idea but I have always wanted to spectate the killer. That would be abused mercilesslessly though!

I know things can sound snarky when typed out, so I want to say in advance that my comment here is meant to be respectful. That said, could you elaborate on how abuses would occur?

The worst I could imagine is that if the killer sees 2 spectators watching 1 survivor, he could assume he’s near that survivor as that’s where the action is. This could be negated by only giving the killer a general spectate icon (perhaps with a tally of spectators) without information of who is being spectated.

If a survivor knows who is spectating who, I can’t see how that would confer any advantage or disadvantage.

I could be missing something completely obvious here, but at the moment I still think this is a viable idea.

It is no problem, it did not come as offensive :) My English is not native so I don't think I sounded right. I meant spectating killer would be abused. Your idea would be fine, I don't think it could be abused and it would be interesting to know if people are watching!

Oooooh! Yes, I see what you’re saying now. Just to clarify for future readers, I’m NOT suggesting we start allowing people to spectate the killer. (I fully agree with you, that would be heavily abused!) I simply want to allow remaining players to know if a spectator (under the current rules) is present and watching the match.

On a side note, your English is far better than many native English speakers I know! :)
