SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

As of 9.0.0, Exultation "upgrades" event items to Uncommon.

PLATFORM: Steam

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

  1. Equip Exultation and an event item, such as a Festive Toolbox.
  2. Stun killer with pallet.
  3. 32-charge fancy fireworks toolbox is "upgraded" to a 20 charge regular toolbox.

    Technically this is not a bug.

    With the rework to rarities in patch 8.7.0. (which, among other things, brought with it the change of icon colours), the special Event rarity was removed. All associated items (such as cosmetics) were then given a tag from Common to Visceral based on their quality.

    In the case of items, add-ons and offerings, they received the Common tag (was Visceral before but luckily that was changed). So as far as the game is concerned you are carrying a Common-rarity item and it will upgrade it to Uncommon when using Exultation. The perk works as intended.

    Downgrading toolboxes is undesirable, but upgrading event flashlights is nice. I withdraw my complaint. Thanks for the response.
