I'm upset about the in-game purchase
I purchased a new character with the specific goal of having a completely fresh experience — no perks, no items, no add-ons, no Bloodweb progress. However, to my surprise, the character came with level 2, five med-kits, five toolboxes, and five add-ons already unlocked — all without my permission or any option to opt out.
This completely defeats the purpose of why I bought the character in the first place. I even spent real money on a cosmetic for them. Getting free progress sounds good on paper, but not when it's forced on players who intentionally want a clean slate.
I’ve contacted support asking for a reset or compensation, but I really hope Behaviour considers giving players an option in the future.

?
They just changed this to give new players anything to start with.
Don´t really understand your problem with this…

I am not a new player and my goal in purchasing was to get a completely empty character to have challenge to get all items by my own without bloodweb progress. I also don't see any point in my character being level 2.
Unfortunately I bought comsetics with real money before I checked the progress

Ok…
Still don´t get it - then the char is level 2.
As they changed it you will never get a completely empty char i guess. You could use all items. But level 2 is fixed i think.

It's hard for me to understand what might be misunderstood in my feedback.
I understand why they did it, but I don't like how they did it. If I'm not a new player, I'd like to at least have a choice. Was there really a patch note where they wrote: now we will give new characters level 2 instead of level 1 and give you free items? I don't like that the game made the choice for me.

Somewhere they said a new char comes with some preselected addons and perks because new players don´t use any at the start.
Also - i completely on your side on choice - they changed so much things i really hate and wish i could choose. But sadly not :-(
Still mention the Next/Previous buttons in the char rotation :-(

Exactly. I was planning to create a new account where all my characters would be completely empty, what a disappointment I would have been after the purchase. I'm sure I'm not the only player who try to create their own challenges.
Honestly, it just feels dumb that I have to take these 10 items and just leave them somewhere in the corner of the map. Plus there's just the thought that even if someone else takes the item, then my team got an advantage from it and it ruins the challenge.
(I understand that it could just be a form of compulsive obsessive disorder)

This is complaining at the highest level

Even if it is kind of ridicolous - maybe buy a new DbD on another platform.
Just the base survs with nothing at all.
I still play my PC and PS4. Doing the rift and events always twice… we players are a bit strange sometimes :-)

??? This is genuinely the most insane take I think I have ever seen.
