This is why survivors DC for this exact reason. A lot of killers wanna slug for 4k it’s annoying.
The killer slugged us and he didn’t even pick us up he was trying to find the last survivor and this kind of stuff is very annoying and needs to be fixed anti slugged should be talked about. Matches have been going too quickly because a killer wants to end us in seconds by slugging.

I agree that something should be done about situations where there are two survivors left and one of them gets slugged because killer is trying for 4K and slugged survivor can’t abandon because the other survivor is hiding, holding out for hatch. Easiest solution would be to allow the slugged survivor to abandon in these situations because at that point the match is essentially over. I can’t really see a downside to allowing abandons in these situations.

While slugging does have a purpose, we're all too aware of what happens when it's used beyond just a simple catchup mechanic. The sad thing is that despite that, I don't necessarily see the wave of changes coming being too effective at preventing this scenario, but we'll see.

I am, at this point, allmost totally convinced that anyone who complains about being slugged for the 4k is not an experienced player thinking rationally. Any expierienced player knows that overwhelmingly the biggest reason killers slug for the 4k is hatch. Its. Not. Personal. Its the way the game was designed.

I think the point is that it isn’t necessary. With 2 survivors on the ground and 1 up, it is not necessary to be slugging for hatch. The hook is still viable even after a sacrifice since they now respawn, and people also can’t 3% anymore which is even more reason not to need to slug.
I think it happens often because it’s just easier. In the very first 2v8 there was no reason to slug. The hook was instant, guaranteed 100% everytime because no flashlight, sabo, or pallet saves were possible. Killers still slugged, so much so that changes were made to the second 2v8. I think it happens because it’s easier.

Dont think that applies in OPs case. Both he and the other slugged person havent been hooked once, and since hook attempts are gone the last survivor has no choice but to unhook them. Hooking them and then patrolling the hooks for the last survivor would waste less of everyone's time.

it's not a matter of being personal or not. It's boring. The slugged survivor should be allowed to abandon in this situation. Killer and the standing survivor can play for hatch but laying on the ground while that all happens is just not fun.

Ive never liked the masquerade event. Looks great but the powers each side gets I've always hated. Insta pallets aren't that big a deal at small loops I guess but blocking pallets mid chase? Nah...

This isn't a "slug for the 4k."
Look at the hook stages. You have two survivors on the ground, neither has been hooked. Either or both could have DS. The only survivor left standing is on death hook. We don't have any idea how much progress is on the last two gens.
The smart play is to slug the other two and go for the Lara. Down and hook her, and you win the game. If you start hooking now, then the other survivors can reset and possibly win the game. Not to mention a well-timed DS could do the same. Slugging it out and getting Lara out of the game is the best play and guarantees the win.

The hatch doesn’t count against the killer. Completely negating a part of a match’s mechanics because someone feels entitled to a guaranteed 4K is just being greedy. How engaging do you think survivor gameplay is there? Why would someone queue to slither around the ground doing nothing?

Nobody is arguing if it’s the best play, it’s about engagement response because it’s uninteresting, boring, NOT EVEN CLOSE TO FUN, and the cold hard truth is this is a video game. How would you feel playing a game and for minutes your opponent rendered you unable to do anything. What if pallet stuns lasted that long or blinds? Would you still be humming the same tune? Does that sound like a good time?

Oh no, we're experienced alright. As in we've experienced this tedium way too often and we'd like BHVR to do something about it. Doesn't matter if it's not personal when it's not the way the game is intended to be played.
Survivors have three hook states and Killers are rewarded with pips and BP for progressing through them for a reason. Could it be because that's the intended way to play the game? Tactical slugging is fine, but it's hard to justify this cheesy shortcut to securing a 4K.
Since BHVR have now taken away all informal methods of tapping out (or "going next" if you prefer), Survivors should at the very least be given the option to bleed out quicker when slugged like this. Nobody wants to be stuck in a match like this.

Judging by the bleedout bars and recovery progress, you 2 were barely on the ground for long. If the killer sees multiple ppl that he can down, it makes sense to down them instead of letting one run off while he hooks. The fact that your teammates have been hooked shows he doesn't have some slug build going on and just took advantage of your team's missplays.

Its also not necessary for survivors to stand at the exit gate till EGC finishes im not trying to turn this into Us Vs Them but I hope if they find a solution to the slugging for 4k situation they do the same for what I just mentioned

It is your job as the killer to push them out or kill them then. Why are you sitting there letting them elongate a game? Killers always control the state of the game.

No, actually. That's not how it works whatsoever. You need 4 survivors to live out your ENTIRE game that gets "ruined" less than 10% of the time. Slugging is never necessary. Tunneling is never necessary. That is the demand for free wins, which no one deserves. All killer mains need to realize they are being coddled by the devs and have been for multiple years now. Your role is disgustingly overpowered and you barely need to be looking at the screen to play it. Don't forget you have the ability to quite literally kill them, on any killer, just to salt the wound that much more. So why is it okay for killers to be toxic and have the ability to kill the survivors directly, when that's not their job, its to sacrifice them. But survivors aren't allowed to gloat that they won their rare game because crazy concept, the game is balanced in the killers favor, survivors escape less than half the time as intended by the devs, and that scenario you just mentioned barely. happens.

Honestly if you know about the perks, there is perk the boon one that lets you pick yourself back up if you are near that radius so you can try running that and crawl into that totem radius if the killer is doing this on purpose but other than that nothing much you can do its not againts the rules, they are killer roles after all they dont get crows or penalties

Players DC often because of so many miserable aspects of the game, though then you wonder; why don't they just play some other game if they are not having as good time with DBD? Well it can still be fun despite it's many flaws. Problem is BHVR take way too long to address many of the frustrating issues (regardless of role) and often throw things in that make them even worse as a temporary fix...

People sure do love to use that to invalidate any and all Survivor frustrations. (Mind you, I'm not saying those things don't happen, but they are in the minority.) There is way more to the DC/go-next epidemic than just not liking the Killer/map/perks, etc.

And why exactly do Killers have to slug for the 4K? Yes, Hatch, blabla. But if you get a 3K and the last Survivor gets a pity escape via Hatch… Do you REALLY think you did not win? Do you REALLY think the Survivor won?
I had games where we did not do a single Gen and the Killer was still slugging me for the 4K. NOBODY would say that the Killer would not have won if they would have just hooked me and the last Survivor would have gotten lucky (because this is the only way outside of Hatch Offerings where the Survivor can escape via Hatch) for their pity escape.

Survivors are fine with extending games for the 0k, so it’s ok if killers extend the game for the 4k.
There are a lot of games, where all the generators have been repaired, 3 survivors are at the exit gates, and the killer is face camping the 4th survivor. The 3 survivors at the gate could easily escape, and get a 1k, but they’ll often extend the game to try to save the last survivor.

I will not once again explain why the Survivors dont have the same ability of extending time like the Killer has. At some point even the most stubborn and biased Killer Mains should have understood it, that being slugged on the ground for 4 minutes without anything which can be done is worse than being at the exit gates for 2 minutes with the Killer having multiple options how to spend this time OR getting the Survivors out.

This only works if all Survivors are in the Dying State or on the Hook.. It should at least be a thing when 2 Survivors are left and one of them is in the Dying State (so that the slugged Survivor can abandon). Would not help for OPs case, but it would be an improvement.

So it looks like he already knew where everyone was. Your bleedout bar shows you were on the ground less than a minute before he downed the last guy.

But the killer doesn’t have options. The survivors are keeping the exit gates at 99%, so the EGC timer won’t start, and the killer can’t open an exit gate because they are defending the hooked survivor.

sometimes video will tell more than a picture. Judging from the timer the killer found that third survivor rather quickly. Now that could mean the third survivor is bad at hiding or the killer knew where the third surviors was.
Regardless how your match went, lets say all three of you were in the same area, the killer downs two survivors and the third survivor was standing in the open full view of the killer. Is it not reasonable for the killer to chase down the third survivor over hooking the slugs and searching for the third?

There are a couple changes they could make to make these situations happen less often.
They could allow the slugged survivor to abandon
I think they should also make it so that killers can get adept if the last survivor escapes though hatch.1 -
Because its obvious this was not a case of someone trying to deny hatch, but just a good play on the killer's end. The killer got 3 downs in roughly 40 seconds.
,Essentially, a play like THIS happened and OP is just mad that the killer downed everyone instead of stopping at the 1st down and ignoring the others.

I do agree that survivors lingering at the exit gate can be a form of BM and should be addressed. But I don’t agree that it’s the same as being slugged. Being fully mobile is fundamentally different from being immobilized. That is not an opinion, it’s an objective difference in agency and gameplay experience. And to try and disregard that very important fundamental difference is not reasonable.
Now, I understand that the broader point might be: “Shouldn’t all forms of BM be dealt with, regardless of the role?” And to that, I absolutely agree. I’ve even shared suggestions before like speeding up the EGC timer when someone lingers, or giving exposed/aura read effects to survivors who stay in the gate too long to discourage stalling behavior. (I will mention though that with those suggestions people then said it wouldn’t be good enough because then survivors would wait outside the gate. To which then it gets very confusing because I thought the entire point was to stop them being in the gate.)
So if the question is about just general BM then yes, of course it should be stopped by any player regardless of role. But the solution to BM is different case-by-case because all BM is not the same thing. Gate BM and slugging are not the same. One allows for full player control and even a choice to engage with the BM or not. The other removes control entirely. Both deserve attention, yes! But we shouldn’t treat them like they’re the same thing just because they both fall under the BM umbrella. A solution for slugging can’t work as the solution for the gate because they’re two entirely separate issues.0 -
This wasn't even a matter of BMing though. The killer was able to chain 3 downs in around 40 seconds. I doubt they were thinking about hatch at all during this.

I do agree this case doesn’t look like BM, as the survivors seemed to be in close proximity to eachother in order for their bleed out timers to be where they are in the pictures. I brought up BM because someone replied to me about BM, about survivors in exit gates. My original post was in reply to someone claiming this slugging was necessary to avoid hatch and I was explaining that it wasn’t necessary to slug like this to avoid hatch, not that this slugging was BM.

I get ya. People like to pretend slugging only happens to BM or to prevent hatch. This game however seems to have just been a perfect snowball opportunity. We also have no clue what the other survivors were bringing. We know OP had a medkit, but the other 2 could've been going for a flashlight save and got caught.
Being slugged for 40 seconds though isn't a problematic amount of time in general. Obviously the killer isn't bleeding people out and started the game by getting 5 hooks before this moment.

Yes, slugging is complex. I personally do think slugging does need some changes when used excessively. We all have our opinions on how that should be done or if it should be done. I don’t like full team slugging, and I do feel it should be looked at, but there is a difference between a full team slug and survivors that were in a group getting full swept down by like a billy or something. This particular case seems to be the latter, so I do agree it isn’t problematic. But I do believe that slugging can be problematic.

From the 1st screenshot, you and the 4th guy was slugged nearly at the same time, as you can see the slug timer. So I bet you're probably both injured healing each other, and killer just found you, and down you both in 10 seconds. AND you're already giving up by not recovering, which is stupid.
And from the 2nd screenshot, the killer got the 2nd guy just 30s after your first screenshot, so it doesn't take that much time either. Probably found him right after he downed the 4th guy.
The entire process doesn't even take more than 1 minute, and you're already complaining?? God.

And why exactly do Survivors have to rescue in EGC for 4 Escapes? Yes, Gen's done, gate's open, blabla. Buf if you get a 3 escapes and last survivor dies by camping…. Do Survivors think they did not win? Do you REALLY think the Killer won?
I had games where I got zero hook as Killer, and Survivors refuse to leave the game and still keep taunting me, purposefully looping around the gate just to exert their dominance. Yes you have won, then WHY are you not leaving?? I had to BEG them to leave by opening the gate myself to push them out, just to get T-bag GG EZ by a 4-man Survivor. Like WHY do they have to do this?
PS: I always give survivors hatch if I have the chance, but I LEGIT saw the whole team saying GG EZ after I give the last one hatch. How do you feel if you play Killer? Just accept? Patience has its limits.

Both of the survivors on the ground could have deliverance. Or there might be a Luck offering in play. OP is intentionally hiding their perks for some reason.
Regardless, this isn't "slugging for the 4k." It's slugging for the win.
