Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

the masquerade feels frustratingly killer sided

the event feels really sided to the killers, with the auto hook and constant exposed status. For whatever is planned next year, can you guys please think though the event effects and balance them accordingly, because its really frustrating trying to play survivor as is.

It’s always interesting that lots of people will demand anti-slugging…. But when killers get remote hooking (which is anti-slugging), then that is a problem too.

Because most people want the killer to be punished and penalised and not encouraged and rewarded for not doing what they dislike. (Which is usually the efficient and optimal thing for them to do).

    The exposed does suck though.

Some excessive slugging does happen because the killer literally can't hook the survivor. That is a slugging problem too. Remote hooking helps fix the slugging problem that happens when killers are forced to slug.

Both sides of the game have issues with slugging, and a huge problem with these forums is most people want the slugging problems to ONLY be fixed for survivors, but still force the killer to be stuck with their slugging problems.

Tbh, singely the remote hook and remote pallet break will make end of event and comeback to normal mode feel like omega hard mode. :D

My biggest gripe is the auto pallet break. it is so strong. The ONE thing survivors have is the window block but that isnt nearly as impactful as permanently removing something by looking at it.

The strength of the powers are absolutely not balanced, but when has this game ever been properly balanced lol

The expose effect is only once to my knowledge per trial and you get healed 1 health state.

It's really nice for the weaker Killers in the roster but I don't think with how aggressive Survivors are playing it's all that bad. It even takes some time to remote hook now; it's not instant so you can get saves. I have. I actually have gotten lots of value from Quiet Mode and I think pallet hit validation must be wonky, because I've somehow managed to get stuns with the party pallets this time around. Not sure why they nerfed vault blocking so much though.

I am a killer main, wise guy 😙

the survivor queues are quicker which is why I play survivor more in the event

as a killer it feels misserable. Like 10 mins in queue to get genrushed basically... if I dont play like a sweatlor and try to be friendly and farm points, the match lasts 3 minutes...

both sides are miserable in their own way. Each event that passes makes playing more and more miserable

If I have to rate the 3 powers each role has:

Create party pallet: they're fun to make and can do some shenanigans, but ultimately when you are in a chase, even landing the stun does practically nothing unless you have Smash Hit, or it's a plague in power.

Quiet Mode: actually legitimately useful and the bane of spirit players!

Block Window for killer: honestly doesn't accomplish too much.

A HUGE problem with these survivor powers is that many times you end up using the wrong thing when you are in a stressful situation, like blocking a window when you wanted to go into quiet mode, or going into quiet mode when you wanted to make a pallet.

Remote hook: absolutely busted and OP and should have never been put back in the game.

Endure any stun: very useful. Especially with spirit fury, or against aforementioned party pallets.

Remote destroy: gives killers free zoning, and a free hit.

Anti-hook perks are useless in masquerade. I found that out when I essentially brought 4 of them as a build, honestly with the changes to the hook spawns with how close in proximity they are, I wonder why I even bring anti-hooking perks anymore.

I don't get why the auto pallet break also blocks vaulting. Just zero counterplay for no reason. Remote hooks arent that bad, but when they're combined with the pallet break AND constantly being used to reap pain res it feels completely out of hand.

Another strat I am seeing more and more killers do is remote hook as far as possible away from them using Barbecue and Chili. The aura reading starts at 40 meters away from the hook, not the killer, so basically they get aura reading on survivors that may be near them. Failing that, what I also tend to see killers doing after remote hooking is running straight at the survivor they just hooked.
