Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Expand Your Input Menu To Allow Different Button Uses For All Types Of Prompts

There are numerous reasons why this would be useful. Let's look at Survivor first. Being able to differentiate between healing and such actions that fall under that button allocation, and pallet drops/vaulting/hiding is so smooth and nice. Being able to optimally do what you want to do without doing something unintended is good.

Now let's look at Killer. I've said for years that the prompt for picking up should not be the same as vaulting, breaking, and searching. But in particular, I want this thread to be about the inclusion of power and ability buttons having multiple separate inputs. For context, I really enjoy playing as Clown and Freddy. I have done for years now. A thing that really causes massive amount of frustration when playing as those characters, is the delay or potentially bugged aspect of swapping between their types of powers/abilities.

Current Clown Bindings:

  • Hold L1 to Reload
  • Tap L1 to Swap Bottle Types

If the inputs for powers was able to be separated, instead of stuck under one umbrella, that would make this aspect smooth and pleasing to f with. For the purposes of my argument I will be arguing as a controller gamer (keyboard clearly has loads of buttons to input bind from anyway). The D-Pad, for example, if that was able to be used as a button bind as an input for the "Tap" aspect of a secondary power, that would be great. The new control inputs would be as follows:

New Clown Bindings:

  • Hold L1 to Reload
  • Tap 'Up' to Swap Bottle Types

Current Freddy Bindings:

  • Hold L1 to Channel Dream Projection
  • Tap L1 to Swap to Dream Snare/Pallet

New Freddy Bindings:

  • Hold L1 to Channel Dream Projection
  • Tap 'Up' to Swap to Dream Snare/Pallet

If this argument is outdated by the release of the Walking Dead Chapter, could someone please inform me because that would make this post pointless and ignorable lol

What with the new input buffers for the Killers seen in the PTB, would it be something that happens to all Killers post patch or would we have to wait for future updates to get them for all other Characters?
