Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

kaneki nerf (not ragebait)

After a few games with him and feeling like the game plays by itself, I have come with very simple solutions that would keep everyone happy

  1. Can't cancel his power manually

as of right now, this is a way to circumvent the inability to M1, essentially you can use your leap to close the distance and get you an easy M1, no punishment, no skill required. if you do not like this solution i'd suggest that you can still cancel your power manually ONLY after you've come to a full stop and not during your dash, which currently saves you a lot of time and prevents slowdown

2. Fix his so called "kidnap tech"

locking survivors in place and vaulting at the same time? why are individuals OKAY with this existing in the first place? i might as well go play a ranged killer that has no auto-aim

3. Reduce the time window between each leap to 3 seconds and remove his enraged vault speed

self explanatory, as his power is 10 times easier and more forgiving to use, there should be an addon to extend it, pretty much like Wesker's golden egg

you can keep everything else, even his clunky sliding and hug teching, anything i might have missed, but having these specific things done would do this killer justice. wesker, legion, blight, even springtrap, they all have some form of punishment when missing their M2, so kaneki should be punished too.

I would be increasing back his range for leap with those nerfs and keep losing only 1 token on pallet destroy instead of intended 2.

I would clarify, that he should be able to cancel his power, but he shouldn't be able to do it before his dash+slide ends.

Just sorry, but if they want his fatigue to be this short, then it needs to be difficult to end near survivor. So either make it difficult or at least match the fatigue of Legion.

Hmm, another nerf ghoul thread from an account with very few posts, just like many other recently. Quite a coincidence, that.

I check this forum every now and then when there's unhealthy stuff going on to see both sides of an argument and laugh at the ones that are objectively wrong (yours in this case). Now I'm around to check on comments about the fog vial's insane nerf, hoping to see people talking about accessibility issues in a game where they straight up get warnings as soon as they boot it up

    1. Disabling the ability to cancel outright would be excessive. If we assume #3 happens and his chain window is reduced to 3 seconds, that's 3 seconds he's stuck standing before his cooldown kicks in. Meaning, he's left standing like a tart for about 5 seconds. I'd prefer just disabling his ability to manually cancel mid-leap, which shortens his cooldown from 2 seconds to effectively half that.
    2. Kidnap tech is already on the chopping block. Nothing to add. May it burn.
    3. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Because I don't think the vault itself is the issue. Wesker has a very similar vault with an equally similar cooldown after. I would, instead, increase Ghoul's windup and winddown times. That way, he can't just ready a vault when you drop a pallet on reaction, and if he does on prediction, if he makes a bad read, he's punished, and the surv can make an extra loop.

Yeah this sounds like totaly fun…. That you have to stop fully in a chase… total fun feature…

Yes but you want the fatique BEFORE you can even hit the enemy. Thats not fun.

. Pallets are in control of ghoul,

No, when he jumps over a pallet he drops out of power and fatique so exacly what you want?

in PTB, kaneki can't use cancel to stop Slide.

    if get +50% slide time

    image.png

Survivors can observe the grab point to determine the taxiing and get away.(like Successfully dodge Mastermind 2rd M2)

But now, kaneki can use cancel Stop slide immediately.

Survivors observing the grab point becomes unnecessary.

so, kaneki need a "buff". buff the slide distance. remove cancel stop.

you are the type of person to get the fog vials nerfed and then complain about toolboxes and medkits

    nope. I like that.

    give survivor more toys pls.

    make Styptic Agent rechargeable.

because fog vials is good than Styptic Agent.

if streetwise no description that cannot be reused, it should be reused.

I don’t think anything the killer does requires skill
