Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

As a reminder to BHVR: Do not push most of the PTB Changes in their testing state!

With the release of the The Walking Dead chapter nearing closer, I just wanted to put out a post reminding BHVR that well over half of their balance changes in the update were outright bad and should be added. I didn't forget, and I don't wanna let them either.

As a reminder of the standout problem children: The Knight and Clown changes bastardize the killers, devolving them to demanding they resort to generally considered boring or "un-fun" playstyles to have any semblance of a chance at doing well. Please refer to zmpixie's video for how bad the Knight changes are (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OXrE9vHl4s) and Arinad's video on the clown changes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zUYPHTsKdw). These two are dedicated mains to the two killers being, for a lack of a better word, properly gutted due to a struggle to balance them at a high level and make them not properly demolish lower ranks.

Moving down a tier of importance (barely, still a very important and pressing issue): Please do not push the audio muffling of Fog Vials and the Visceral addon, as the muffling is prone to making people sick, and the Visceral is pure overkill, causing it to act like a Void Crystal with well over double the range. The reason those weren't a problem is because they were a limited time thing, restricted to their own game mode. You didn't want to deal with them, you didn't have to at all, or after like 3 weeks. Fog Vials are instead a permanent addition, and left unchecked, will cause a lot of killers to quit because they're never able to find anyone, and that just doesn't make for good business now does it?

Next up: The Executioner changes are nearly perfect, bar the Scarlet Egg granting you aura reading on your trails still, meaning you have wall hacks on anyone sprinting at all times, but the Pig changes especially have a standout pick: the nerfing of Last Will due to the addon becoming partially base kit. Here's the problem with this style of design BHVR: you continue to make worthless addons when you do this. Last Will is a net nerf due to the 3% being barely noticable, while the 10% slower charge time is very noticable in comparison. Please rework it entirely instead of pushing this.

Finally, the perk changes. By no means should the Franklin's change go live. I hate the item drain due to not bringing in items, instead finding them in chests, but I am one person of a handful who do that. Most survivors bring in stacked medkits and toolboxes and proceed to rain all over the killer's day and they can just do nothing about it. If you really want to remove the item drain from Franklin's, make sure you rework Medkits and Toolboxes first, then try it again. In its current, live release state, Franklin's is a mandatory evil, and removing that is such a major survivor buff. For the survivor perks, Built to Last is far too overtuned for the same reason: Medkits and Toolboxes are far too strong, and giving survivors more charges faster than before is ridiculous for no other tradeoff. if you wanna keep Built to Last fast, make it take 50% off per activation, make it a one use, or have it charge through something like chase time.

Everything else I haven't seen too much fuss over. The reworks to Keys and Maps look fine, a couple of the new perks look a bit strong, namely Conviction from Michonne is too easy to activate and lasts for far too long, and the Streetwise rework in particular is nice in theory but it looks like more time is needed to see how strong it may be in proper loot builds.

Please, do NOT push the above changes because they are so detrimental to game health. To combat poor killer changes, PLEASE let content creators who main or play a lot of the killers you're changing to weigh in on them. You made the damn creator program, now please use it to its fullest. It has a lot more potential than just "you can get money from player purchases", especially if it's so hard to get in to.

Crossing my finger that Clown's bottle power get reverted. The faster reload and faster movement speed while reloading can stay.

I bet anything that the Franklin's, Clown, and Knight changes do not make it to live.

I bet Fog Vials and the TWD Survivor perks get serious changes before live - some perk buffed, one possibly nerfed, and Fog Vials made more fair and balanced as the fog stacking was indeed problematic on the PTB.

Many of these changes probably ain't making it.

Edit: Oh look, I was right. According to the AMA, looks like the Knight and some Clown changes might be getting reverted or fixed, and the Fog Vials are absolutely getting some nerfs. No word on the TWD perks. I also doubt based on the feedback given, the Devs are going to gut Franklin's the way they planned. Time will tell. I'll add a second edit if it turns out I was right about that, too.
