Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

New CLASSIC DBD Event.

It's been happening for so long now that my list of friends I've made on DBD keeps getting quieter because they all leave. They leave because of the bad changes in DBD. One thing that keeps getting brought up is how much we all miss the old days. The CLASSIC days where keys would open hatch before end game, large maps, hatch would be located all over the map (not in front of killer 9/10 times) Dark murky maps, long matches, original fog, original maps with all the pallets and everything (not these thinned out maps we have today) Hook sabotage was permanent. Original Perks restored for the event, before they were nerfed like Dead Hard etc. Bring back Moonlight Offering. Remove survivor perks that didn't exist back in the old days like distortion. (it's not that old) Basically old perks restored and new perks removed for both killers and survs. Just good old fashioned DBD for a nostalgic event.

I get this might take some coding but it would be a tribute to DBD back in the old days and would bring OG players back. Give the new players a taste of how it used to be. The event would be optional like all events are. Could bring back nostalgic items for players to earn that are no longer available to obtain. Before anyone complains that its changed to what it is now because of issues, let me state that the issues were players crying that it was too hard. Glitches are one thing but the old days were amazing and myself along with everyone I speak to miss the old days and left because of these ridiculous changes that is DBD today.

I would so love this. One event that would definitely bring me back to game

Yeah this would be a good idea, like the current event. Limited time and possibly do it with a few select maps if they are having issues with it if they ever do it.

I feel like it'd be a good idea. Maybe old DBD truly was better. Maybe it wasn't. Either way, we'd quickly see, given how much better the playerbase is than they were all those years ago.

🤣 Do you really think the player base is better now then way back when?

What exactly do you think changed that makes the hatch spawn in front of the killer?

Seems like you just want the survivor stuff back. Do you still want first hook moris? No basekit BT? Guarantee you'd see that in nearly every game because it's more novel now than it was then.

No my killer main is Michael. I honestly feel killer is too easy. I don't even go for any kills if I'm having fun jump scaring everyone one. If the survs don't know how to communicate or are toxic then I kill them but its not a challenge. It WAS a challenge back in the day. I used to run matches that would last until the timer ran out. That's too long for little kids but it was sure fun and involved skill and strategy. Something these kids now don't know how to use. I explained a lot of what I and my friends were discussing about the old days. As far as the hatch difference, It was very challenging for either party to find hatch in the old days. Now its pretty instant to find, there's a pattern and usually spawns at killer shack without any offerings or right next to killer 9/10 times. Ive been playing since 2017 so its not hard to see the difference.

What do you mean hatch spawns right next to the killer? Hatch location is predetermined from the beginning of the match. It doesn't appear for the killer magically. Odds are better for the killer to find it, but that is mainly because A) the Survivor has to hide and B) the Killer has a higher movement speed. Nothing that wasn't the case back then.

Sorry, but no. Who is this supposed to appeal to? Like yeah, people who played the game for 9 years straight and are very nostalgic, but by now that is a very small part of the playerbase.

Do you know how these matches would go? "Oh the Survivor ran an infinite loop for 20 seconds and due to Brand New Parts all gens are done now." "Oh the hillbilly brought a red mori and killed me 10 seconds into the match."

I am sorry, but old mechanics would not work with current dbd. Iridescent items were balanced by their rarity. That is not the case anymore with the huge increases in BP. A lot of the fun came from the fact that people didn't know what they were doing. DBD has become to optimised for something like this.

Seems logical doesn't it. When I mean instantly appears next to killer I literally mean that. As soon as third person fully dies, killer is no where near killershack and it gets closed, thats instant. As I said, I can see the difference from way back when to now. Don't be salty by my experiences. I get its hard for kids to play killer but thats why skill and strategy are important. Not handouts for killer making it easier for them.

I just described how the game mechanics work. Hatch has predetermined locations and randomly picks one at the beginning of the match. It doesn't decide to spawn near the killer. Here is some evidence, with a method that can allow you to find hatch before it actually appears:

I'm sorry but intentionally losing games kind of takes away from any of your ideas credibility. You don't even play DBD.

I don't care what you described. I know what I'm seeing.

To be fair, it depends on which version of the game would be chosen for a classic modifier. There are plenty of options.

I've been playing for 5 hours today alone. So you main killer and want survs to lose to you all the time is that it? These new matches are an effing joke. It's not balalnced and caters to killers. I main Michael and its not fun to win every freakin match. The player base now is full of cry babies.

Not to mention.. its an Event suggestion. Meaning you don't have to participate.

Honestly, as far as game mechanics go, I want the old hatch back again instead of the new changes to the keys. And that's speaking from a killer main.

As far as an event, I'd much rather one that just restricts killers, survivors, perks, items, and maps to the original line-up, but otherwise keeping the mechanics as they are now. I'm kinda curious how the old school settings would go while using today's coat of paint.

I was thinking something like that would really like OG game mode like now we have modifiers and 2vs8 coming every once in a while. But something like that might be very hard to do and would need some balancing as old dbd was very survivor sided with infinites and maps with 100 pallets.

Yeah could 2020-2021 dbd game mode work just before all the map reworks.

    "I don't go for kills"

    "Killer is too easy"

Cause and effect. If you played to win, you'd go against good survivors who aren't new players hiding in corners, and then the game wouldn't be so easy. Problem solved.

My killer Michael is leveled up, not quite 100 but he's not a baby and I've been playing since 2017 so I come across mostly seasoned survs but what I love the most is a challenge. For the most part its not a challenge because players today do not use strategy and skills. I do not have issues with survs hiding in corners. I'm also amazing at hide n seek so if they did play that way, bring it.. Id find them!! Surv mains use toxic behavior and troll. I'm soooo all for that because I will slaughter them and make them miserable to the point they all dc. Survs now a days are too chicken to stick it etc. But I def give hats off to ones that can out play me when I'm on Michael.

However, I do not feel there is a play to win in dbd. There's no VICTORY at the end of the match. There's nothing but points. Points you use to get the items and offerings you really like. I have everything and so many of it all already. So I never keep score and getting 4k only feels great when I'm teaching toxic people a lesson. 😁

Just to be clear, I get 4k just about every dayum single match, cause dbd is full of toxic people rather then ones that know how to play. Even playing surv I hate most of the rando's that come in bc they dont use skill or strategy on their end either. And sometimes I will throw them to the killer to teach them a lesson.

Who exactly are you asking? I absolutely do along with countless others I know and explained why.
