Matchmaking skill

Typically I don't complain about this, but it has gotten to a ridiculous point. I am a Rank 1 killer and survivor and since this event has started, I have gotten the worst of the worst. Disconnecter's, griefers, conceded solo players, etc. But the thing that has bothered me the most lately has been the skill gap within the team that I am matched with. It is ridiculous to me that I am being matched with people that are dropping pallets and wasting pallets without even doing a proper loop, getting downed within seconds of a chase, running in a open field exposing themselves and lastly the most annoying of all, not doing a single gen for 3+ minutes because Hex: Ruin is active and no one is willing to touch a generator until the hex has been cleansed. These are just the several issues that I have encountered throughout this event which is making it 10x harder than it needs to be. You might be reading this and wondering to yourself, "why not just play killer?" Well here's the confusing part. Considering everything I just said about my survivor experience you would think I would have it easy on myself playing against idiot survivors right? Wrong. I get the exact opposite survivors. The survivors I face, have ridiculous teamwork (could be voice chat), they gen rush regardless if Ruin is active or they cleanse ruin seconds into the match. They hook rush while others are working gens so it has me in a dilemma if I want to tunnel the injured survivor or go after the ones doing gens. Aside from altruistic survivors, I get plenty of survivors who know the in's and out's of every possible loop in the map which makes chases last longer. I understand that I am going to get these types of survivors playing as a killer because I am Rank 1, but why is it that I get these type of survivors consistently when I am playing as killer and then when I switch over to survivor I get the most stupid, "how did you get to this rank" survivors that literally have me just giving up in my games because it is absolutely ridiculous how these people get nothing done in 5 minutes or they constantly get downed one after the other having me to babysit them.

Its the well known problem, its called SWF balance gap.
Over 2 years and the devs still pretend as if voice comms and coordination werent a thing.

Well I dont know what to say
But sadly I doubt that BHVR will ever adress this balance gap, they are too scared of upsetting the survivor community that has been used to the voice comm advantage for so long now

No doubt this event in particular has really messed up the flow of core game play. Many matches feel totally different in play style as most eyes are on the prize, those sweet event points.

Things will return to normal once the event ends I am sure.

Its really throwing off my games at rank 1 cause im used to getting people at rank 1 that are focused on obj and the games feel more smooth but with the event going on I get kids who dont even touch gens or totems the whole match.

How the hell did these kids get to rank 1.

This event becomes 10x harder and grindier because most of the time I can't even get the hatch or the gate because my team either throws the game or they get slaughtered easily one after the other

I completely understand. It's like survivors enter the game with the only intention is to survive as escaping with the lamp give +25 points. Unfortunately, that means players are more . . "scared" to get caught. And killers running whispers, BBQ, Hex: Ruin, and the 4th is usually different. Must I mention the slug of the 3rd to make sure the 4th does not have a chance to escape.

Admittedly I am focusing on killer for the event now as the past 8 or so games were mirror images with 3 different killers, but same game play and strategy. I am not going to bash killers, but that type of play gets very old and killer was the only way to change it up.

Rank 1 doesn't seem to have an affect on their mindset, everyone is so focused on staying alive they are playing more stealthy than ever, but all that does is slow the game down even more which is always in the killers favor.

Good luck on future games. If you aren't against it I would give killer a shot and take a break from survivor. It Helps!

I just spend my entire bleed out time on hook watching other 3 teammates getting deep frenzied and doing full self care against sloppy butcher separately from each other.
It was an endless cycle. Well at least till I got sacrificed.

Main solo survivors will always suck.

You facing such good players because they are all survivors that play SWF often,  meanwhile those who you are playing with are solo survivors who made their way to rank 1 without anyone teaching them how to play the game.

Knowledge equals power, but you cant learn if you are not playing with friends who teach you all the tricks of the game. Of course there will be exceptions but casual players will never know half of the tricks a SWF player knows.

Because Rank System sucks those casual players will always be playing at the same rank SWF and good solo survivors play, thus making the devs afraid to buff killers...

Conceded solo players? I take it you generally SWF, then? You have to realize SWF is part of the problem, along with DS. People are being pulled up to a rank where they don't belong, thus showing it once in a solo match or playing with less friends. While it's fun to play with friends, sometimes people will look for someone to carry them and it can get them a lot further along than they should be able to get. You also have to realize throwing down pallets to prologue the chase isn't a thing that'll hurt the person doing it, point-wise. While it's preferable when pallets aren't wasted, it happens from time to time. The event also adds a sparkle to survivors, too, making them so much easier to see. So if they would rely on stealth before, they no longer can if they play into the event. This is just a couple of the issues.

I dunno what to tell you about them not doing gens. Are you sure they really aren't doing anything? I find half the time when people claim no one's doing anything, it's because they're not aware of what survivors around them are doing. I've had someone complain (in a match I was part of) that no one did anything, but I got a few gens past half way and was chased off them multiple times and ran the killer around for a while. Point is it isn't helpful to assume your teammates aren't doing anything.
