Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Swamp simply must be killswitched until rework

Both Swamp maps are unacceptable, they have always been in an unacceptable state. They are abusable by both sides, they make some killers like Pinhead or Artist or Houndmaster borderline unplayable, and on the other hand they have the most absurd 3 gen potential in the game. They are too big, the structures are too strong, the list goes and on and on.

These maps must be reworked. From the ground up.

They are so thoroughly rotten that moving a window around, or rotating a building, just won't bloody cut it.

They must be redesigned, period. There's no other realm as awful as Swamp in this entire video game. No other realm even comes close.

It needs to go. BHVR must swallow its ego and its pride, and realise that not everything they produce is made of solid gold. Swamp is abhorrent. It cannot remain as it is.

I think the playerbase was three times happier when it was killswitched due to a bug some time ago.

Swamp is the only map that still can spawn jungle gym with 2 windows and a pallet…

hmm, didn't know there is supposed to be such a hate on swamp maps, I like to play on them.
I don't really care, if I am killer or survivor…

Those maps are unique and fun let them stay that way.

I feel that Swamp is one of best balanced maps. I played Houndmaster there without any problems. Both variants are fine, sometimes spawn RNG that favors one side more and other time favors the other side. It's not like when you spawn as survivor on farm or as killer on withered isle.

Artist, yeah, I know the pain well.

Houndmaster and Pinhead tho? Not sure why they should have problems.

Also, if we disabled Swamp, we would probably not see it for a year or more.

I mean if you consider any map with elevation pain for Artist, then there are quite a few of them.

The swamps are not really even a problem for her because most of the elevation is that kind that her crows can travel up on them. Of course not the buildings but still that is in any map with buildings.

Considering it's been years since BHVR started reworking maps and Swamp still hasn't been touched doesn't really show there's any rush for BHVR to fix Swamp and kill switching the entire realm for years isn't a good move.

I'm not a big fan of swamp but if they remove the double window square I can live with it

The big boat one is fine, it's the one with a main building that's the real issue imo. Main is so broken that there's literally no reason to chase there and it takes up so much of the map that you end up only playing in half of it.

Then because killers never chase there, it just ends up in this weird stalemate with 5 good players where you constantly run to main to reset and the match ends up lasting 20 minutes.

swamp is the only original map left after the realm beyond update but is has shown that it’s outdated.

I actually like the swamp map. Maybe rework some of the tiles but I really like the uniqueness of the map. Although many seem to dislike it, the tall grass adds variety to the game, which I enjoy. The map plays differently to others which is a good thing and gives stealth killers and trap killers a chance to shine.

I'm sure I'll get downvoted but In my opinion the worst thing is how a lot of people seem to want everything to play same at the expense of variety. Killer powers that force survivors to interact with the game in a different way such as Onryo or Tombstone Myers get unwarranted hate for this reason. People just need to learn to adapt to different aspects of the game, and not try to play every map or killer the same. Variety adds fun and replay-ability.

Rework Springwood & Gideon, and you'll have a deal.
