Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Prove that healing is not meta

As I defend some big killer changes. There are posts about healing being busted, meta etc. I did experiment myself where I played 20+ games and here are 10 most used perks. I will do the same when I'll get to play survivor to get proper feedback.

  1. Dead Hard
  2. Lithe
  3. Sprint
  4. Vigil
  5. Wiretap
  6. Finesse
  7. Bond
  8. Windows of opportunity
  9. Deja vu
  10. Resilience

Healing is stronger when survivors all bring 4 med kits with syringes and healing builds, obviously. But then every other aspect of the team is weakened: no gen speed perks/items, no info perks/items, no exhaustion perks, no keys, no flashlights, etc. Killers will get triggered that a team pulls off multiple insta heals, meanwhile that same "healing meta" team has so many weaknesses to exploit. So it doesn't necessarily make teams stronger to go all-in on healing, it just makes them one-dimensional and strong in one aspect, but weak in all other aspects.

As for why it's considered a "meta", is that a few popular streamers claimed healing is OP and then this mythology gets regurgitated ad nauseum by the comp bros just like the myth that you can't get enough protein from plants gets regurgitated by gym bros. It basically amounts to social media bro-science that the "cool kids" circulate, and if you counter this narrative with logic and facts they all go "no brooo, you're wrong broooo, healing is meta brooo, trust me brooo, 1 v 1 me broooo"

People are saying that the games are hard and unwinable because of healing is too busted. You can found quite a few posts here. As I stated I haven't attend a single dedicated healing build. Thus, the side effect of panic is not based on real issues.

Wrong. The healing bonus is added to the base healing value. If you run self care and fully stacked desperate measures, then it's 80 % added to the 0.35 charge to heal progress per second, so are other perks. I tried DM, BK, streght in shadows and i healed in about 10s in the basement. That was cool, but I had nothing to really help tunneling, gen progression etc. Fully dedicated builds are not bad because you don't need them, but because they don't give you value across multiple mechanics but boost only one.
