Let's talk about "The Twins"
I was really hoping that after waiting a couple of years we were going to get…well…a rework with her. I really don't like using that word around here due to reputation respectfully, but twins really didn't change much. A few little tweaks, okay sure. Then some number changes.
That's as exciting as it got. I wasn't around for when Twins released so I can't really say much on the killer but from what I do know, this killer requires you to slug…A lot. I know we are trying to move out of that playstyle to a degree, but hey Knight and Oni still exist among anyone I can't think of right now. Meanwhile Sadako gets the anti-slug treatment.
Any who - I digress…Regarding the twins, on a serious note. If we were to rework her power. How would she work? What would she do? What would victor do? What would his role be?
I know people are going to hate this idea - but its just an idea. It doesn't mean anything, but give Victor duality. One feature you can control him if you desire, but he can't down you. The other feature is you can change to where Ai controls him but he can down. (Doesn't have to in this mode either if its too strong)
I know I know. I must like pain because of Ai.. lol. I just enjoy the possibilities.

Well I don't know if you where already around there, but they tried to go away from the slugging. Problem was that she was suddenly able to injure an entire team without real counterplay, and you could also down 1 person additionally. It didn't even have a huge cooldown xD
I feel like the ai-version sounds interessting but only if they fix him being stuck before - please don't let him be nemesis zombies xD

I think it'd be cool if once you unbind, Charlotte becomes an AI M1 killer, and Victor upon hitting a survivor, doesn't latch onto healthy survivors anymore, and had a cooldown on the spot before being controlled by an AI to continue chasing the hit player, like a Knight guard. If Victor downs the survivor with a Springtrap style scratchy scratch grab attack up close and personal, he'll latch onto them then (like in the PTB that made them the best killer in the game temporarily,) preventing the survivor from picking themselves up, from recovering and requiring a teammate to get rescued from Victor's clutches. Charlotte can't recall Victor in this state, or that'll just let them slug again. Charlotte upon coming close to Victor, would bind with Charlotte again automatically (latched or in chase), letting you release him on a different survivor, or control him and down the already injured Survivor yourself. Charlotte at anytime can also recall Victor as she can now, if hes struggling to down the survivor and you'd like your power back, its available at anytime the second the AI takes over.
This way, Twins can truly be a killer that hunts as a pair, getting the slowdown of the advertised 2v4. The only way to get rid of victor once he hits you essentially is to crush him instantly and give Victor back to Charlotte, or keep the killers power and risk going down. This way they can't slug since Victor will either get crushed in his AI chase, or he'll get the down and latch onto the downed survivor until you pick up. Charlotte should be able to make her pick ups now, since survivors can't recover while victor is attached to them.
Thoughts? Just a speedrun comment, i barely thought about what I've said, kinda just wingin it

That's fair point. I was there before they came into game and i must say, that untill then I never had so much fun playing killer. Twins were extremely fun, sadly extremely buggy and were released unfinished. Victor couldn't hold people in locker, he was dying nonstop on some minimal elevations etc. They were never above top 3 least picked killer to the point where it seemed like BHVR don't care. I was extremely happy when they announced that Twins are getting rework. Sadly, it took 2.5 years to deploy and the rework was absolutely crazy, to the point where they were so overpowered that people would hate them as much as Ghoul or old Chess Merchant. So the rework were scrapped and almost 3 years of waiting turned into few basekit add ons, which is pretty sad. If I count how much resources they gave to killers who didn't need it as much, it's sad. But people gave up on Twins too. They are still somewhat fun to play, but good twins are obnoxious to deal with. If you ask me, as one of few Twins main how would I rework that, the answer is obvious.
Victor: Can now perform hook interaction, similiar to 2v8 mode, forcing him to cooldown, removing the urge to go there with Charlotte and lose all the time. Not even talking about upcoming antislug features, where Twins have to slug to pick up and hook.
So my idea is that Victor can still latch onto people, but instead of downing people and going on, he can chose to sent them onto hook instead or hold them down for Charlotte to pick up, giving her boost similiar to Slipstream Houndmaster. This would incentive Twins to not slug, while providing Charlotte easier time to approach and utilize their hook related perks. My Twins build, as I don't really play them as much is similiar or almost same for a long time, because the variety isn't as possible when I spend 80 % cruising around map breaking pallets and picking people.

To your idea. Victor is the only fun element about Twins as Charlotte is powerless M1 killer. Removing Victor from kit or giving him Ai would make those 3 people who play them to not play them. I feel that Twins identity is kinda strong because they were first macro multitasking killer in DBD before BHVR decided to give every new killer teleports or zooming speed.

Fair enough!
Yeah for sure that would be so neat. Id be down for that style of power for sure. Then give victor a little hat! They could play off of this idea with some of their thoughts and feedback as well.

It wouldn't take anything away. Victor can still be controlled with my idea. Charlotte and Victor just need a little more spice to their kit.

I understand that. But Twins are lost, there is no way to make them fun for either side without reworking them or incentiving them to not slug. Twins overall have most counterpicks and have hard counterplay but when teams know what they are doing, Twins are not even that strong. The fact that BHVR tried and have up makes me feel that they will not be touched really, apart from some weird tweaks like chase triggering by Victor, which caused a lot of sound bugs.

That’s why I don’t like to play against Twins. But the existence of these killers (as well as Oni, Knight) only proves that slug is not a bug or a flaw in the system, but that it is part of the game mechanics. No matter how annoying it may sound. The only solution I see to make it easier to counter slug in solo, where regardless of the level of the players they will suffer due to the lack of information and bad positioning in 50% of their time. Just provide the ability for all survivors to see each other's auras if one survivor is downed and to slow down the bleeding timer when the killer camps a slugged body.
I don't see the point in strictly banning slugs completely, because sometimes that’s the only way to win in the endgame. At least, until hard sfw and genrush exist. Killers are doing their objective and they shouldn't be punished for it. The best solution is just to provide more tools for survivors which encourage skill and make it possible to counter. (Unbreakable is hardly doing this. That's just 2nd chance that works against a killer trying to wisely put pressure for some comeback, not when the whole killer playstyle is bleed everyone out just because u can use it once)
New DLC perk already trying to deal with it, but I still feel the only people who’ll be able to execute it well are skilled sfw, not solo or mid teams who usually suffer from such playstyle. The game needs some tools for survival to outplay this in the core mechanic, not weirdly designed perks or nerf of the specific killer.

But that is my whole point of this thread and my idea. It would keep them from slugging, make them even more fun to play as and against.
Twins is a killer that genuinely NEEDED a rework. Instead they got "Adjustments" Meanwhile Trickster, Sadako, SkullMerchant, Freddy all got reworks that were NOT needed respectfully.
Twins doesn't have to be loss, but BHVR shouldn't definitely fix their chapter for sure. It would smooth things out and I would certainly be a lot more interested in playing Twins myself b/c currently I do not. I really love Macro Gameplay.

I sadly think that BHVR doesn't priorotize Twins, neither have plans to spend any resources on further development on them. I guess we have to wait and see if they will revisit them once their "to do" list is fullfilled.

If they really wanted to go with this "twins" concept, that of being two places at once, they need to really make the advantage only THAT: being two places at once. One or the other shouldn't be overpowered or significantly stronger than the other.
So I would propose that Charlotte moves at 110, and she can toggle her power to either summon Victor as normal, or shoot him out of her stomach, which acts much like Victor's leap we have now.
Victor on the other hand really needs the most rework. There's two options I could see happening. Either he retains his speed and his leap, but is not nearly as lethal and cannot actually down anyone. Or the devs slow Victor down significantly and make him actually vulnerable at all times… In return, victor should have the ability to slowly drag a downed survivor along the ground and hook them.

I understand truly. I do. I just feel like hey, if we saved time and resources from trickster, sadako and skull merchant, we could have had more than enough time to given her a proper rework. I know she isnt a top priority I get it but its content. Their content. It should be looked at and not forgotten about.

Twins already is a killer truly works in pair. Charlotte's inert body bodyblocks windows/pallets and can catch vaulters when placed well, that's how you do it. There's already Knight and Nemesis if you want to work along an AI.

I tried playing twins as a corralling killer like clown/knight. people already hate knight for working with friends idk how Twins can succeed without people hating them:(
1 -
People already hate twins. xD
Wouldn't change anything. People hate most killers that aren't trapper.
1 -
You can stun Charlotte to cancel power. These changes wouldn't take that ability away, it would just make their slugging potential harder and buff their hooking
-1 -
Yes, ideally you would want to use the two character's placements tactically… but unfortunately 99.9% of twins games are victor slugging everyone, and charlotte on cleanup duty hooking the survivors. Or… literally, everyone slugged on the floor bleeding out, no hooks required.
If that does not indicate to bhvr that there is a massive design failure, then I don't know what else would get through to them. This cannot be as simple as looking at kill/escape statistics.

Take away the bug where Victor bounces of survivors without injuring and they are fine now. Semi fun to go against, fun to play and pretty strong but not OP.

Hopefully she will get some attention again too. There are some great ideas and reworks that could be done for her.
