Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Feedback Document for Dead by Daylight Developers – Suggestions and Concerns
Dear Behaviour Interactive team,
As a long-time fan and dedicated player of Dead by Daylight, I would like to share some suggestions, observations, and concerns gathered through my extensive time playing both as killer and survivor. I hope these thoughts are useful in your ongoing effort to improve and balance the game while enhancing the player experience.
🎮 General Gameplay and Mechanics
- Tunnel and Camping Perception
- While survivors have access to communication tools like Discord, killers are often criticized for using tunneling and camping strategies. These tactics may not always be fun but are often necessary to maintain pressure or compensate for strong survivor coordination.
- The fact that survivors can coordinate perfectly and even bully or harass killers—especially streamers—without repercussions creates an imbalance in perception. Perhaps more education on in-game etiquette or new anti-toxicity tools could help.
- Disconnect and Harassment Behavior
- During events like the Masquerade, the disconnection penalty was removed, and unfortunately, many players abused this. It made games frustrating, especially for killers.
- Furthermore, players sometimes try to harass killers outside of matches—visiting streams, adding on Steam/Xbox just to insult. Adding a report option for post-match harassment or off-game behavior could be a helpful addition.
- Custom Matches and Meta
- From experience, players often underestimate killers’ ability. When I played in custom matches with friends who don’t usually play DBD, it became clear that sometimes it’s not the perks or killers that define the meta—but the hands that use them.
- I believe a skilled player can outperform meta builds, and that meta should be understood in context, not blindly followed.
🧟♂️ Killer and Survivor Balance
- Perk Balancing – “Save the Best for Last”
- A good idea would be to allow killers to keep their tokens if they hit the obsession with a power (not a basic attack). This would encourage power use without punishing the killer unfairly.
- Also, when the obsession dies, it’s great that the tokens freeze and don’t reset, but maybe allow killers to earn more if a new obsession appears?
- “Better Together” Incentives vs Reality
- Survivors burning Bloodpoint offerings often rush gens without engaging in other activities, resulting in fewer BP despite their intentions. Maybe adding multipliers for interactions (unhooks, totems, heals) when point offerings are active would reward varied gameplay.
🧩 Events and DLC Content
- The Walking Dead Chapter – Missed Map Opportunity
- While I appreciate the upcoming content, I feel that the new map (which is essentially a reskin of Mother’s Dwelling with a small hospital piece) lacks the iconic detail fans expected.
- A more faithful recreation of key locations—like the hospital hallway with “Don’t Open, Dead Inside,” military camp barricades, and exterior vehicle scenes—would have delivered the full TWD experience similar to how Racoon City Police Department or Midwich Elementary were handled.
- DLC Pricing vs Content
- If a chapter costs $6 or more, players should expect more than a reskin. Map quality should reflect the value—iconic environments are part of the immersion. FNAF’s rumored map being another variation of Mother’s Dwelling (with just a pizzeria main building) is equally disappointing.
🛠 Suggestions for Improvement
- Add a reporting category for post-game harassment or stream sniping.
- Increase Bloodpoint rewards for survivors engaging in multiple gameplay aspects when burning BP offerings.
- Improve map quality in licensed content to meet thematic expectations.
- Rebalance “Save the Best for Last” to preserve tokens when using powers on obsession.
- Acknowledge that gameplay balance is also defined by player skill, not only perks or killer tier.
Thank you for your time, and for continuing to improve Dead by Daylight. Despite its flaws, it remains my favorite game. I only hope it keeps evolving in ways that are fair, fun, and rewarding for everyone.
Sincerely,A Dedicated Player
