Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Quality of Life Phase 2 (Suggestions)

Behavior made it clear that the year 2025 would have a greater focus on quality of life, so here are some interesting suggestions for improving this aspect.

1- Prestige Filter for Killers and Survivors
Reason: Why can't I sort my characters by the order I spent the most BP/prestige level?

This is something simple and absolutely necessary.

2- The ability to exchange item/addon (survivor) and power addons (killer) for others of higher or lower rarity.

There are addons and items that are completely useless for both sides and basically no one uses them. So why not give survivors the ability to exchange these addons for others of their choice?

For example, my Dracula, I have 100 sunglasses (blue addon) and I'd like to exchange them for the Warg Fang (purple addon). If for the 100 I could get 10 or 5 purple addons + a BP amount to do so, I would do it, and it would help me get more of the addon I want.

3-Game Tutorial Rework

The fact is that, without a doubt, beginners are the ones who suffer the most in DBD. They're forced into a learning curve where there are many try-hard killers.

A complete rework of the tutorial system, improving beginners' preparation for the actual game (such as at least one test match with bots), would already be something better than what we have today.

4- Solo Queue Communication Tools:

What to improve: Introduce a system of quick commands or gestures (e.g., "I'm going to heal," "I'm being chased," "I'm going to hook") for survivors in solo matches.

Why: Solo players often struggle with a lack of coordination, and this would help level the playing field compared to groups with voice communication.

5-UI Customization

What to Improve: Allow players to customize the HUD, adjusting the position and size of elements such as perk icons, survivor status, and progress indicators.

Why: This would make the game more accessible and comfortable, especially for those playing at different resolutions or with specific preferences.

6-Spectator Experience: What to improve: Enhance spectator tools with free camera, slow-motion replays, and detailed information about perks and items.

Why: It would benefit tournaments and content creators by strengthening the competitive and streaming community, as well as helping to monitor hackers.

Replay Saving System: Introduce a feature to save match replays, allowing players to analyze their plays or share epic moments. This would be useful for players looking to improve their gameplay or analyze matches strategically.

Implementation Proposal: Inspired by systems like Dota 2, replay in DbD could work like this:

Recording and Saving: During the match, the game would record data such as positions, actions (perk activation, item use), and states (generator progress, survivor status) in a compact format, like event logs.
After the match ends, this data would be saved temporarily on Behaviour's servers (e.g., 5 days), allowing players to download it.

Download and Storage: Players would access a "Match History" in the menu, listing recent replays with details (date, map, killer, survivors).
They could download the file (e.g., a few MB) to a local folder (e.g., "Documents/DbD/Replays"), reducing server storage requirements.

Client-Side Replay: The DbD client would load the replay, rendering the match based on the data, using the existing spectator mode engine.
Tools would include: Cameras: Free, first-person (survivor), or third-person (killer).
Controls: Pause, fast-forward, rewind, slow-motion (0.5x, 0.25x).
Information: Perk activation, generator progress, chase time.
Navigation: Timeline to skip specific moments (e.g., first hook).

7-Proposed Improvement: Reporting System with Feedback

While the reporting system has improved, it's FAR from "decent."

Here are some suggestions to make it more useful and facilitate our war against hackers and toxic players.

    How it would work:
Intuitive Interface: Report menu with clear categories (toxicity, hacks, griefing) and the option to attach clips or descriptions.

Automatic Prioritization: Algorithm classifies reports by severity and frequency, using game logs for validation.

Replay Integration: Attach replay excerpts or screenshots (if available) for evidence.

8- Universal Offerings (Killer and Survivor)

What's the point of having a birthday cake offering on one character but wanting to play another?

    Easy and simple to implement

    9- Post-Game "Play Again" Button:

After a match ends, instead of returning to the main menu, have a button that allows your group (or you, if solo) to directly queue for the next match. This would greatly speed up the process of playing multiple matches in a row.

    10-Loadouts by Category:

In the loadout menu, allow the player to give a specific name to the loadout.

    11- "Mixed" Cosmetic Preview:

In the store, allow players to select and preview different cosmetic set pieces (head, torso, legs) together before purchasing, to see how the combination would look.

    12-Shop/Rift Access During the Lobby:
While waiting for the match to start, players can browse the shop, the Rift, or the lore files. This would make waiting times, especially for Survivors, much more productive and less tedious.
