Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Survivor feels so bad r/n…

me and my two friends play nearly every evening, we have done for a couple of years. And it’s gotten to a point where it just feels like killers are getting everything. Maps like cold wind having less than 8 pallets on, clown being able to run 27% faster in this new patch. The fact every game last night the killer was 70-500 ping resulting in awful game health where hits shouldn’t be hitting, it also often feels like MMR doesn’t even exist in EU lobbies. The game just feels miserable r/n… and I used to love this game.

It feels that way, because they are. But if you only listened to the average killer mains' "feedback", you would get the impression that the average escape rates are 80%+.

First of all, game has nothing to do with players connection or ping. If you have player with VPN or playing with you from different part of the world or with bad connection, there's nothing people can do about it.

Cold wind… Man, loopers can destroy killers life looping around shack, tree or house.

Only moment I can agree is clown became overtuned. It's like racing car holding W

Even being killer main I’m agree farm is trash, as well as borgo and should be reworked. If u don't have something to connect tiles, farm is terrible generally

Phew. It's hard to reduce this down to one side. Both sides are affected.

I get what you're saying – especially in EU, there are so many people running around with ridiculously high ping. But do you really think that's fun as killer? Constantly having those "yep, nice, that’s gonna be a hard hit but I’m on him... oh wait, ping says denied" moments? Happens all the time.

…As for Coldwind – I get it. A lot of groups turn that map into a complete dead zone super fast. And then the gameplay just becomes: pre-shift and die. Some maps definitely need better (or more) pallets, while others need a reduction in how absurdly OP RNG can be. Both extremes shouldn’t exist.

(RNG is just dumb sometimes. Haddonfield already isn’t great for survivors, and then you get games where not even a single pallet spawns on the main street. On the other side, look at some of the MacMillan or Autoheaven spawns that can happen – completely busted god pallets into safe connects)

But as long as I, as killer, still have to grind my way through some of the worst-designed maps in the game, I don’t really have much sympathy when a survivor team gets a bad RNG Coldwind or a Borgo with garbage edge tiles where you basically just die no matter what. That’s just how it goes.

(and before the map offering changes, it was just a constant rotation of the same handful of survivor-sided maps over and over again. - hello old eyrie, springwood, autoheaven, the game, macmillan, garden of joy rotation)

And about the MMR.… that's basically the typical lower mid-MMR range where everything seems to pile up — which is a huge problem. :/
New players start there (because of the smurf protection), bad SWFs hang around there, good solo players who can’t climb out or don’t play for escapes, really weak players who should be way lower but only care about their "personal escape" stat... killers who don't belong there but stay because they always play "super friendly," (like.. I only 2 hook everyone and now i let em go) even though they should be getting stronger teams by now.…. etc.

on Coldwind? Nah. That only really happens when the killer doesn’t know how to play tiles properly or fails to break pallets early. Once those are gone, that map falls apart fast – there’s barely anything to link the strong spots, and it turns into a dead zone real quick.
I get the frustration, sure. But unless you're facing a cracked SWF with coordinated bodyblocks and tight rotations, Coldwind usually ends in a fast and clean 4K.
Wouldn’t hurt to throw in a couple filler structures between tiles though – just so survivors don’t get completely screwed once the early resources are gone.

(so y, I’m fine with adding a bit more there (coldwin, haddonfield, borgo) – but please, for the love of god, take some away on other maps while you’re at it)

Map is already way too small. If you put something in-between, it will quickly turn very survivor sided. If something, first make map bigger.

yipp maybe… i guess throwing in 2–3 unsafe 50/50 filler tiles here and there so people can connect loops in dead zone areas is really just a band-aid fix. :/

Coldwind could need a full rework at this point.

Same goes for Haddonfield, borgo (super bad for survs) same for Springwood, same with some stuff @ crotus/ the game etc . (problematic for a lot of killers)

The last couple patches have had considerable survivor buffs. Survivor has not gotten worse from like three months ago, it's gotten better
