Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Positive Feedback on fog vials (survivor perspective)

I am a survivor main and dont play killer that much, so this perspective is only through a survivor point of view. But I’ve been testing the fog vials against different killers and in terms of opacity and use cases it feels in a good spot. It really shines when using it while the killer is at distance and heading your way, as it allows you to evade getting into some chases. However if the killer is already near, then it’s much less useful for throwing off the killer. I feel in this sense this fog vials are in a really good spot, and now that we have them, they feel like they are bridging a gap that other items don’t fill. The vials feel useful, but not too weak or too strong. I would hate to see them buffed or nerfed, as I think they’re in a good spot right now. Anyway, again this is a through a survivor only perspective, so killer perspective might be different.

Playing both sides, my biggest gripe is that they're infinite with just a cooldown. Charges wouldn't have hurt this item, especially if everyone brings one. Can't speak for accessibility issues though, I don't personally have an issue with it.

But, otherwise, I agree with your post. Using them that way is the smartest way to go about it. Maybe have scratch mark/aura stopping/grunts of pain reduction be addons too? I'm still debating that nerf personally.

Oh, and changes to how it interacts between maps different lighting. That makes a HUGE difference. Try comparing the smoke in Dead Dawg to Nostromo Wreckage to see what I mean.

As survivor, they've allowed me to take off my sweaty gen build, throw on meme perks, and be the clown that I love being. Being silly is what lured me away from playing killer exclusively, but things have not been very silly in this game as of late, hence the sweaty build. But I put on the meme build, got put into some soloq matches with like-minded people and the shenanigans—between flashlight saves, fog vials, and slapping each other's butts—were top tier.

As killer I'm finding they do little to nothing to deter me in chase. They're mostly just a nuisance and are only somewhat effective at endgame when they're trying to get someone off the hook and they all rush over. It's hard to keep track of them then. But that requires coordination, which is only so common.
