Rift Progression Feels Too Slow – Please Rebalance Fragment System
Hello Behaviour team,
I'd like to share some honest feedback regarding the current Rift progression system, especially after the recent changes.
While I appreciate the effort to refresh the Rift with quests and more structure, the removal (or severe reduction) of Rift Fragments gained through natural gameplay XP makes it feel much more grindy and frustrating — especially for solo players or those who don't have hours to play every day.
Before, we could still progress steadily by simply playing well and consistently.
Now, if we miss dailies or complete all the available quests, progress slows to a crawl — sometimes earning just 1 level in several hours of play.
⚠️ Main issues:
- Rift progression feels strictly time-gated by quests.
- Casual or working players fall behind quickly with no way to catch up.
- Even completing all quests often isn’t enough to reach Tier 70 before the Rift ends.
💡 Suggestions (even one would help):
- Bring back passive XP-to-fragment progression (even at a reduced rate).
- Make weekly or milestone quests worth more fragments.
- Add “repeatable” side objectives for extra fragments after finishing all quests.
We want to support the Rift system, but it needs to feel fair and rewarding.
Right now, it feels too punishing for normal play.
Thank you for your attention and your work on Dead by Daylight.

you do still get passive fragments for XP, but its half as much as it was before (5/100 vs previously 1/10). they definitely need to buff that back up, and they should take milestones back to what they were last chapter (they made every level give 25 for a total of 2500 per milestone, previously it advanced from 10-20-30… for a total of 5500 per milestone)

I had absolutely 0 trouble finishing the last rift and I didn't even play that actively during that season. The natural XP earnings are lower but quests are more numerous, easier to do, and multiple can be accomplished simultaneously. It seems slow in the first week or so of release but over hte course of the next few months the rest of the rift quests, event quests, and modifier quests will release and the fragments available will increase significantly. I didn't even complete a signfiicant portion of the killer milestones, although I did get most of the survivor milestones last season and I was well into the repeatable tiers before the new rift released. I don't think it's that hard to complete the rift and getting to the deep rift (which is really the only part that matters because everything after that is reskin and you've already been refunded your auric cells) is trivially easy even if you barely play.

They massively inflated the numbers for milestone quests in this new Rift.

99% of the time i end up finnishing the rift 1.5 months in advance. Even playing other games. If they slowed it down anymore itd be finished 2 months in advance. And then anyone that actively plays would get bored of lack of something to work towards besides prestige.

The issue are the milestones.
They have been made more difficult AND less rewarding, giving you less than half of what they used to, but requiring more time to finish.
As for events, the only planned one coming soon is 2v8, and that's it.

There is also 2 modifiers planned, one before 2v8, sometime this month most likely and one after.

I'm in the middle here. The Rift always seems much more daunting than it actually is. I don't think this one will really be much harder to complete in the scheme of things. However, grinding does get pretty old and it's nice to feel the fruits of your labor earlier rather than later. Putting Valentine's Day outfits in the Rift that couldn't be reasonably accessed until mid-March was a meme for a reason.

The July one was the unreleased Chaos Shuffle.
But you are right that there are 2 at least.
Still, I feel like they didn't have to butcher milestone rewards for no good reason other than lolz.

I agree there wasn't really much reason to nerf the milestone rewards, but as long as we get 3 sets of extra quests before the end of the rift or the quests provided by the 1 modifier and 2v8 we're getting have more quests/rewards to compensate I don't think it really matters too much
