The item reworks feel really good
Hey guys, I just have been seeing a lot of negative feedback on the forums about the item reworks. But I've been enjoying uses maps and keys SO much more after this update. Maps feel far more useful and keys being more obtainable is awesome too. (Plus if you find a key and you don't want it, you can just use to get other items instead, pretty neat)!
There are some things that could be ironed out, such as maps tracking gen auras during the same activated duration rather than having to use the beam. Also the fog vials need to be adjusted, on some maps they're very effective and fun, on others you can see right through them. But I'm having a blast with them, and introducing an item that can counter aura reading is such a good way to shake up the meta and offer counterplaying without just axing a bunch of perks. I know this patch has its issues, but I genuinely love the direction its gone and I think with just a few minor tweaks it can be perfect!
Also: if clown could have his yellow gas last a little longer so they can't just throw it willy nilly without survivors being able to access the speed boost too, that would be great. You could buff purple bottles to compensate so that way using both bottles will be the key to success other than just using one type and ignoring the other outside of very niche situations.
But overall, thank you for the new item reworks! Its awesome! (and please buff visionary)

I an behind this too! I believe the more streamlined and minimal look for items is perfect.
It both removes addons no one used aswell as made the bloodweb less bloated with items that you would most likely not use.
Hope They keep this up!!

I think many people are being overtly dramatic when it comes to Maps and Keys.
I saw complaints about every single part of them, and the only two I find valid are:
- The iri add-ons are useless now (fair, especially compared to old Blood Amber)
- Maps now don't track almost anything (also fair, giving it the bare minimum + totems is kind of bad.)
As far as Fog Vials go, I would make them a bit more fair, considering people are enraged over them and that the PTB to Live changes didn't land well.
Also, my current idea for Visionary would be that it could tremendously buff maps, and allow you to rummage a chest for one.

My biggest complain is the charge system which is trash. Before the changes I could tap the item and see what I needed to see for a brief moment and get 20+ uses from the item, but now …4-6. The blood amber addon is my second biggest complain and that they removed the rainbow map.

Blood amber change was weird, making it iri add on with huge downsides is a bit too much. I haven't truly used it as much but I see the reason to be mad about that change. The keys overall are better. They give you bond on demand and allow you to loot quite efficiently making perks like Specialist, Moment of glory etc. way more viable. The amount of charges us though quite low. There are 4 chests, meaning that you can use it for 2 bonds. But overall I'm fine with key changes. Map though are horrible. Not only that they are primarely WOO baby version but they don't truly reflect the item identity anymore and do everything wrong. You brought in ranbow map that allowed you to track: totems, gens, traps,… now you have to bring purple add on to trade woo for tracking totems within range and limitation. If the maps were underused I can't see them being used more now. If you want to track pallets and windows than WOO will always be better pick as you are not limited in uses. Also beam was overnerfed and I don't understand why. It lasts about 10s now, it was permanent for one spot to pinpoint the crucial location. Limiting it makes absolutely no sense. Crimson stamp allows you to track killer within 6m of the beam. I tried it and 6m is so minimal, that it won't give you value out of dropping it in unsafe pallets, where you already can pinpoint killer easily and on top of that it drastically removes duration of beam. So yeah, complaining about keys is not that reasonable while complaining about maps is fairly reasonable.
