Feedback *devs, please read*
Hi, p100 survivor only main here with about 3k hours. I made an account to post my overall feedback/thoughts thus far. I'll start with saying how much I appreciate the new walking dead collab. Awesome stuff! I've been a Vittorio main for the longest time and now switching to my favorite TWD character, Daryl.
That said, there is a list of problems I would like to list and hope for some upcoming changes in the near future. I know for a fact I ain't the only survivor main suffering here, so devs, please, hear me out.
Let's begin with the obvious #1.. the new clown buff. What in the actual.. there is no way y'all expect us (survivors) to suffer playing against that. I don't know who in their right mind thought that this is okay. I'm usually the one who has to do the looping for the games to be successful and the new clown piss bottle throwing cheetah.. I mean it's straight up unplayable and quite frankly makes me want to not just dc which I rarely ever do, but completely uninstall the game. There is no counter play whatsoever. The haste is busted.
This brings me to #2. Why is it that killers have all these awesome abilities that they can keep getting back over and over not to mention the collage of overpowered perks on top of that.. while the one survivor stun perk that was supposed to be decent with this new dlc is only to be used once? What about dh? Takes insane skill to pull off within 0.5 seconds of a hit and we can only have it available maybe twice. This game is already hard enough as is especially playing with solo que teammates that 9/10 times seem to be somewhat braindead.
Now #3 map offerings and the new map/key changes. It makes no sense why this needed to be changed. 2.5 mil bp as a refund is miniscule by the way to the 1000s of map offerings, maps, keys and all their add ons that I had no choice but end up with. The only thing I use is a flashlight and I only use the same 2 addons for it. Everything else is useless to me personally and I wish I didn't have to spend bp on all those things and now for it to be gone and getting 2.5 mil back for all of that.. crazy. Would be nice if there was a system where you can get exactly what you personally like to use. Some kind of conversion system where I can trade the 1000s of items and the 1000s of their addons which I will never be using.
Also, the new mass bp spending.. cool idea, but completely useless to me because all the good stuff is usually on the end bits and if you auto or mass bp, only the center useless stuff gets picked hence it's a waste. Most players either don't know or don't care. I personally have to trick the system taking my sweet time thinking out a good path to get the good stuff.
Map offerings. Why? I mean at this point I just wish you took them out completely from the game so I don't have to waste my bp on these useless items now.. I don't understand why y'all keep nerfing survivors in every aspect possible while completely making killers broken. All these new killers who are just getting stronger and stronger with every dlc and the new killer buffs completely changing the scale.
I would like to mention the new smoke bomb is pretty cool and I like that you can keep using it meaning there are no charges. That's what every item should have been like in the first place, same as killers who can continuously get their powers back over and over. Fair.
Speaking of maps.. #4 Haddonfield. I get it, some maps are more survivor sided (wah boohoo to the killers) with this being one, but the new change.. common. This is exactly what I mean. There is no middle point. It is the most useless map I have ever seen alongside both decimated borgos with one of them (I know you know exactly which one I'm speaking of) and one of the coldwind farms. In what world does it make sense to y'all to make a giant dead zone? What are we survivors supposed to do? Killer chases a noob who prethrows the one good pallet loop and there goes the game. Also, pallets in the corners of the map.. might as well just remove that too!
Where is this middle ground I'm speaking of? A survivor perk a bit overpowered, let's completely nerf the living heck out of it. Most other perks.. don't even bother cause they've been useless and will stay being useless. A killer being too weak? Let's buff the heck out of it. List goes on and on. Absolutely no balance.
The game has become so beyond stale to a point where it's constantly the same thing over and over. Thousands of kanekis who catch up to you instantly from across the map and continuously m2 you while YOU ARE BEHIND A FREAKING WALL?! Thousands of springtraps who keep going back to their doors so they can get never ending undetectable. And now clowns who throw their piss bottles over and over just to catch up to you instantly no matter what you do. Every killer and their grandma using all sorts of aura perks to know your exact GPS location at all times. Tunneling. Literally every killer nowadays. I don't even have enough time to get a freaking heal. Ridiculous. But hey, let's nerf 3% unhooking because 3% is too much and the 0 skills tunneling killers will be upset you won the 1 in a million jackpot of unhooking yourself only to get to some weak pallet where all it takes is 1 simple mind game.
#5 lockers. Besides dredge, noobie dwits or idk flashbangs, lockers are completely useless. Let's put them next to windows and laugh about a looping survivor accidentally jumping into one instead of vaulting. You have no idea how many times this made me rage. Why is this even a thing? In what world putting a locker directly next to a window a good idea? Do you just hate survivors? I don't get it.
#6 PC vs console players. Not even talking about being able to bump up sensitivity or better visibility macros. I'm talking about key binds. I'm on console and I assume you know where this is going. Let me give you an example. A few actually which pissed me off so many times. Survivor is down on a pallet. Let me try to heal them because killer is slugging. Oh.. goodbye pallet. Here comes the killer. Well.. sorry survivor.. it be like that. Oh a trapper put a trap by a pallet? Let me untrap it. Oh, again goodbye pallet or worse, you start untrapping the trap only for it to suck you right into it somehow. What about the artist's crows or springtrap's axe? Let me vault this real quick because the killer is right behind me.. oh never mind. I guess priority is to remove the crows or the axe, but it's completely useless now because I'm dead. You see where I'm going with this? It's so easy on PC to just set up key binds for everything, but on console you get what you get. Awesome. How has this not been fixed yet is beyond me. I noticed that for example, if the spring trap axed you and you decide to vault first, you have to hit the vault only as it prompts otherwise removing the axe will take priority and not let you vault. Amazing.
Finally #7 hitboxes. This right here is the epitome of dbd. Regardless of ping, killers are accustomed now to m1 you from a distance knowing well that the hit will register. The amount of hits that shouldn't have been hits I've experienced is baffling. Even my friends who watch me play question how in the world that hit. I have no idea how y'all made hitboxes so busted, but this has got to be the most annoying thing as of yet that I've experienced in all my time playing. This needs to be completed reworked. I wish I could show you the montage of insane hits I've experienced, but you can just go on YouTube and see every streamer go through the same madness.
Look, I know this is a lot, but despite it all, I actually really love the game as a whole and you guys did an amazing job, but some things have to go. I get that some killers may be new, inexperienced or had to go through some kind of swf bullying, but that's rare. Most of the time and I'm talking a good 9/10 here, on the survivor side it is so incredibly hard. There is so much that goes wrong. Killers are solo while survivors have to rely on eachother to be able to escape. Most of the time, survivors only have a few seconds of chase before they go down. Most don't know mechanics. Dbd has got to be the hardest game I've ever played in the aspect of there are so many little things you have to know in order for you to do good. Techs, killer mechanics, survivor perks, 3 gens, how to loop properly, list goes on and on. There is just so much and your average solo que survivor doesn't know these things. Hence most of the time they just give up. An experienced player can only do so much for everyone else. Please, read this article and I hope to see some better balanced changes.
Thank you so much for everything
Sincerely,
ACosmicWhale

I don't think PC can edit any more keybinds than console already can. they just have more buttons like scroll wheel.
the issue with healing on pallet or yanking Cenobite chains on a pallet is a universal issue that all players need to correct. for example, my pallet drop is B whereas heal is RB

Thanks I'll see if I can at least do that on console

Yes you can 100% separate the heal button from pallet throw on console.
Its the difference between Actions and Interactions (I think) - without seeing the wording in front of me.
Typically (but not in 100% of cases!) Action = quick thing, i.e. throw pallet, and Interaction is stuff that takes time, like with progress bars, such as healing healing, removing crows.
Just to remember, going into hatch for some reason is an Interaction, even though it should just be a quick button press :)
Both KB/Mouse and Controller users suffer from window vaulting and hopping in lockers being Actions, so we all need to be wary of lockers placed too close to windows :)

Thank you so much for the info! I changed my buttons layout, should be much better now. Kind of ridiculous that action/interaction is defaulted to R1 on console lol
