DBD Item System Overhaul – Simplified and Balanced
This item rework follows the recent patch trend of reducing the number of add-ons for items like the Map, Key, and Fog Vials.
It simplifies the add-ons of older survivor items to match this new direction.
🔧 General Item and Gameplay Balance Changes
Current Status:
- Total Items: 24
- Total Add-ons: 30
📌 Standardization:
- All items now follow 4 tiers of rarity: Brown, Green, Blue, and Purple.
- Item effectiveness by rarity follows a ratio of 3 : 4 : 5 : 6.
- Each item now has only 5 add-ons, one per rarity level.
- All add-ons that increase item durability are now subject to a maximum durability cap.
1. Med-Kit
- All Med-Kits now grant +50% healing speed to others
- Healing Skill Check success rate bonus: +12.5% per second
- Max durability cap: 48

Dev Note:Add-on count has been reduced and power rebalanced. Overperforming Purple and Red add-ons now have durability penalties.

- Skill Check success rate bonus: +8%/s (reduced from +32%/s)

Developer Note:Toolbox Skill Check bonuses created excessive synergy, so it was nerfed. Increased durability gives Killers more time to respond.

Developer Note:The survivor aura-reading ability previously on Keys has been moved to Maps. This allows solo survivors to access powerful info tools, not just SWF (Survive With Friends) players.

- Base durability: 3
- Fog range: 8m
- Cooldown: 60 seconds
- Max fog duration: 12s

Developer Note:**Fog Vials now use the same durability system as all other items. This eliminates unlimited use, bringing item systems into consistent balance.
