Tier list on how faithful the licensed killers are to the source material
this is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a tier list based on how well adapted I think the licensed killers are in DBD so let’s see how this goes. I’ll ease myself into the weirder topics later like Idk maybe I’ll make a list on how likely you’re getting tunneled based on what you killer you play or something like that.

Since the Ghostface IP is literally just a mask, I'd say it's actually the most faithful.

the only reason he’s in his own tier because I didn’t know how to rank him because on one hand, he’s not faithful to like the Scream ghostface but on the other, he’s faithful to his own version so l did not know how to rank him lol

The only unfortunate part with Amanda is that using her power to grief is 100% in character 😵

if I’m being honest AFK pig was probably the most accurate Amanda ever was 😂

True. We need Cary Elwes to come save the day. 😝

I'd disagree with Nemesis, he should probably be up in "So Close" just for the few concessions made to make him fit in this game.
He's otherwise extremely faithful to the video game he was adapted from. The absence of certain things doesn't mean the things we do have aren't faithful.
I also think Bubba's pretty damn close, I'm actually curious why you put him so low. Is there something you'd expect him to be doing that he isn't?

I've only ever seen the first season of Tokyo Ghoul several years ago, but from what I remember Kaneki never did hunt innocent people down. He was just trying to make his way in the world. How is his portrayal in Dead by Daylight accurate, unless he changes completely in later seasons? Not calling out the tier, legitimately curious.

pretty much what behavior did is that for DBD they rewrote his lore to pretty much be a what if he was evil and by that I mean, it’s literally just a recap of the entirety of season one just with the entity, slapped at the end to convince him to be no no good person pretty much

if I’m being honest I would probably put nemesis in so close because it looks like nemesis, the perks fit nemesis, I just don’t feel like I’m gonna nemesis

and as for leather face that’s definitely my fault. I should’ve definitely put him higher.

It's a good list, and it may just be my interpretation of "faithful", but I'd pull the Executioner further down.
My thinking is its power was never in the Silent Hill games, nor its Mori. This Executioner I don't think was James' tormenter neither, but one of perhaps several Executioners broughout about by another's guilt. James' Executioner ceased to be once it fulfilled its purpose. It's also too fast.
However, if you mean its look, then it's spot on.

yeah I’m not even gonna lie. It’s always me how pyramid head came with Cheryl Mason, instead of James.

he still isn’t that bad. Boy is just in constant hunger

Despite loving phead power, don’t really feel they adapted him that well. In dbd he dosn’t bring that feeling “came out of nowhere to pursue”, his animations are pretty basic, his mori good in sense of being unemotional execution, but nothing about him being manifestation of guilt.
James should be whole character and not just some cosmetic in such sence as well :(

Very much agree with Onryō’s placement. Aesthetically, they truly did an incredible job adapting her over from the movie. Thematically, the chapter was just on point. The sounds, visuals, animations — perfect.
In terms of power, they did an admirable job too. Adapting a 7-day curse to a video game that lasts only ~10 minutes per match and whose gameplay is more slasher-focused (which Ring is not) was no easy feat. The balance has been off over the years (too weak then too strong then too weak) but the core concepts are all great.

yeah I know I was really surprised with how well they did with a killer that doesn’t even make contact with anyone and only appeared in the ending of one movie

I’m not too familiar with Silent Hill since I’ve only played the remake of the second game, so I’ll take your word for it, but there is actually one killer on this list who I was considering putting in the depths and that is Springtrap

I'd say Chucky is perfect
He doesn't really have any special power in the movies other than possessing people and being a doll. Just the fact BHVR found a way to make him work at all still impresses me to this day

I'm not really sure how the xenomorph can be more or less faithful. It's an alien that kills people. There isn't much to it. Same with Leatherface. Physically, they nailed it, right down to that silly trot run. He's also just a guy that kills people. I love TCM but he's a pretty simple character.
From what I recalll of the Child's Play films, Chucky is pretty spot on. It's been a while though.
And yeah, Ghostface doesn't even count. He's pretty much an original character in dbd.
I haven't seen Tokyo Ghoul but, just from what I've read, Kaneki seems pretty far off. Didn't they have to twist his story pretty severely to make him work? Pyramidhead just overall doesn't make sense here, since he's not even a real person on his own, and these survivors mostly don't have guilt-ridden histories.
Sort of related, but I often wonder how many people who play this game even know who these characters are. I had a coworker recently tell me a younger relative had no idea who Pinhead was and thought Leatherface was based on Billy. That one hit me in the gut.

Yeah, considering how little Chucky has in terms of an actual power in his movies they made it work really damn well

The voice work is absolutely astounding too, Brad Dourif & Jennifer Tilly are absolute legends for putting in the work they did. You can really see their passion for the franchise shine through in the voicelines

yeah their dedication to the franchise is always impressed me
