Map-tied achievements need to be removed
There's a new achievement for repairing a gen on the new map (Fallen Refuge) and escaping. I have played at least 60 survivor matches since the The Walking Dead chapter, and I have gotten the map zero times. I didn't even try to use the map offering because:
- 20% of success is worthless
- even if it works, the map offering for the realm can send me to any of the 4 maps
- sac wards still completely nullifies map offerings, even though their success rate is abysmall low, and the reward of getting a specific map is too small
This achievement needs to be changed. I just can't get the map. And even if by some miracle I finally get it somehow, good luck with escaping in solo q. I feel like I would have more luck winning the lottery.
You should not have created this achievement after gutting map offerings. Also, why is the map now showing up? Also, no special queue for the map (which you said you'd do starting with the FNAF chapter), no boosted rates for the map.

I disagree of the title statement.

I hate achievements based on luck overall. I'm not "achieving" something, I'm just playing until I will lucky enough.
Like this stupid Vecna achievement, where you need TRIPLE luck to get it:
1. Get a Vecna. Thankfully he was buffed a bit, because he was one of the rarest killers in the game recently.
2. Find Hand/Eye, another thing you don't control at all
3. Escape
I couldn't get it for whole year and it's so stupid.
And now it's same situation with map-tied achievement. Be lucky enough to get map, complete 1 special gen and then escape. I got this WD map maybe 5-6 times on survivors since release and every time I can't complete this gen.
At very least, they shouldn't add "complete this special gen" to conditions.3 -

If you guys find it so worthless and luck based that its beneath you, then why don't you just not do it?
Honestly you make it sound like you don't like playing the game, and Achievements as a game feature, Why would you do them for a product you don't enjoy playing? Does not make sense to me, One fact remains clear and true though, you will get the achievement if you keep playing.
Which is the reason achievements features exist to bloat up game time, if you don't want to play it why do you keep going?
I personally enjoy playing the game with my Survivor buddy and we both have a rush of Adrenaline cause now we have to play like we mean it, to play with tooth and nail to get it. I failed to get it twice, but I don't mind.
Other times when my friend faces Vecna, she does not have the achievement we get to play "get down mr president" as I try my best to drag the aggro of the Insane Mage so she has to get it and escape. Absolute peak gameplay.
And I hope BHVR will not shy away from making equally difficult achievements in the future, Bring it! I love a challenge.

Yeah just enjoying the game and getting the achievements at the same time is the right way to go about it. People who obsess of getting 100% achievements and then complaining of them because they have not got it fast enough just seems quite childish and entitled.
I myself got the Hand-Eye Coordination three months ago while playing normally of course knowing of the achievement and what I needed to do it but I never stressed about getting it. I did fail it once before when I was lucky enough to get one of the items.
Still there is this kind of topic in almost every time they add new achievements. There is always someone saying one or several is too hard and in the end they aren't.

Because I love fighting for improvements. Also, why can't I access the new map, and have no decent means to go there? You might not care about achievements, but a lot of us love them (in many games). There is satisfaction in 100%-ing games. And when something is difficult but fair, and you get it, it's really satisfying.
However, when achieving something relies purely on luck (unfair, can't do anything about it (remember, 60+ matches without a single occurence of the new map for me)), it just sucks. Very bad design.People also love P-100-ing characters (me included!), and love bulk-spending of BP. It's a hard, long grind, but very satisfying. However, now imagine that every time you used bulk-spending, there was only 20% chance that the BP got spent, and 80% chance that the BP would just disappear and do nothing. It would feel awful.
I hope you can see where I'm coming from. A good balance of hard and fair is important for us who love achieving things. For those who may not care that much about achievements in the game, the best you can do is to try to see where we're coming from. Cheers!

You might not care about achievements
I literally provided an anecdote about loving achievements. Please read again.

Finally got the map as Survivor this morning! I legged it over to that gen and got hooked twice trying to complete it. The second time, I even pointed at the gen, hoping the killer might get the hint and have mercy—nope.
I finally finished that gen, but there were still two more left, and I was on the death hook, thinking my chances were slim. Low and behold, we got all the gens done! I ran to the exit and just as I was about to open it, the killer downs me.
Luckily, they slugged me and went after someone else. While that was happening, someone picked me up, and I legged it out of there.
Tell you what, my heart was pounding a million miles a minute!
All achievements now complete!

I'm really glad for you :D I still hope I get to play on it someday, at this point the map is a like a myth to me xp

Yeah still only had it once as survivor and twice as killer. I haven't played a lot since the map came out though.
I find the map so dark too. So hard to see where you are going.

The Outbreak Breakout achievement is a complete joke with this nerf to map offerings.

This is exactly my issue with the challenges and achievements. It's one thing if it's a simple thing you can pull off, even if it's grindy. When it's centered around luck and prevents you from progressing toward a larger goal, it's just unfair.
I still can't get the Vecna achievement because I've never played against one that's chill enough not to go for an early steamroll. The most recent map achievement was an extremely lucky pull where I got it once (haven't gotten it since) with a friendly Ghostface. How that's something I could've worked toward on my own, I have no idea.
