Ideas For More 2v8 Survivor Classes
A thing that bugged me since the first 2v8 is why there were 8 Survivors who gained a new outfit, but only 4 Classes for them. This left Nea, David, Feng, and Mikaela in a bit of a weird spot for me. So, I decided to workshop some classes for them so you could actually get a full 8 man with a different class.
RENEGADE
REVEAL SKILL
- Reveals the Aura of both Killers for 4 seconds upon fast vaulting a Window or Pallet.
- Fast vault another Window or Pallet to refresh it.
TEAM SKILL
- Press the Activate Ability Button 2 to activate Quick Vault.
- Quick Vault causes you and any other Survivor within 12 meters of you when you activated it to vault their next Window or Pallet much faster.
- The ability has a cooldown of 30 seconds, but the cooldown will not go down if you are currently in a chase.
UNLOCKABLE SKILL
- After being Caged once, The Renegade gains the ability to vault a Window blocked by the Entity one time. When this occurs, they gain 10% Haste for 5 seconds.
- Additionally, The Renegade will not stagger when they fall.
Renegade Description
As a method to understand my madness, first one up on the block is Nea. The Reveal Skill of The Renegade is similar to Thalita's Perk, Cut Loose, but it instead reveals Auras. Just like the Perk, it'll be a bit difficult to keep it up, but the reward is much stronger than it. When you think of the Team Skill, just think of Lara's Perk, Finesse. That's basically what it does, but it's a bit more limited. The Unlockable Skill plays into the Windows as well as benefitting you for being able to use as much of a loop as possible. I also snuck an effect from Balanced Landing because not everybody is that good at the game and there's a lot of factors going on, so I wanted a semi-consistent way to have it activate during a Trial.
TECHIE
REVEAL SKILL
- Reveals the Aura of all Survivors for 8 seconds upon hitting a Great Skill Check
TEAM SKILL
- All Failed Skill Checks within 12 meters of The Techie's Correction Radius turn into Good Skill Checks.
- Press the Activate Ability Button 2 to apply a Skill Check Bonus to all Survivors within 12 meters, causing their next Failed Skill Check to instead add 8% Repair.
- This has a cooldown of 80 seconds
UNLOCKABLE SKILL
- After being Caged once, all Skill Checks for The Techie are 25% slower, and the Great Skill Check Zone is 50% larger.
Techie Description
This is Feng's little Class, and I played into her Technician aspect. I took Vittorio's Fogwise and Jonah's Corrective Action and made them the Reveal and Team Skills, respectively. For the Team Skill, I did add a bit something that doesn't exist yet: being rewarded for failing a Great Skill Check. It'll still make the noise though, and it physically can't happen near The Techie because all your Fails become Good. The Unlockable Skill is actually a bit of This Is Not Happening. Remember that Perk? Well, with the Reveal Skill, I thought it'd be apt.
GUARDIAN
REVEAL SKILL
- Permanently reveal the Aura of Survivors you pick up from the Dying State, take a Protection Hit for, or rescue from a Cage.
- The affected Survivor will also see your Aura.
TEAM SKILL
- While running, you can press the Activate Ability Button 2 to perform a Guardian Shove, stunning any Killer you run into. This ability has a 90 second cooldown.
- Any Survivor within 12 meters of The Guardian's Savior Radius gains 10% Haste for 10 seconds, as well as their Scratch Marks being hidden for the same amount of time.
- You cannot use Guardian Shove to stun a Killer sending a Survivor to a Cage.
UNLOCKABLE SKILL
- After being Caged once, The Guardian picks up Survivors from the Dying State and rescues them from Cages 100% faster.
Guardian Description
This is quite obviously David's Class. I mixed in his overall theme of "We're Gonna Live Forever!" into this Class, so it provides a great bonus for getting aggressive and rescuing your buddies. The Reveal Skill is basically just a no-limits Aftercare, the Team Skill is Leland's ability from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game of all things, and the Unlockable Skill is pretty much WGLF with a dash of No One Left Behind.
DEACON
REVEAL SKILL
- Reveals the Aura of all Totems to you within 24 meters.
TEAM SKILL
- The Deacon can perform a 10 second interaction on a Dull Totem to turn it into a Boon Totem, causing Soft Chimes to ring out within 12 meters. All Survivors can see the Aura of the Boon Totem.
- Any Survivor within range of the Boon heal other Survivors 100% faster and can't be Revealed
- Upon the Killer snuffing the Boon, it goes on an 80 second cooldown before it can be placed again.
UNLOCKABLE SKILL
- After being Caged once, The Deacon can place Boons 100% faster if their Boon is already active.
Deacon Description
The fact that there's Totems in 2v8 that do nothing actually irks me. So, with this very heavy-handed approach to Mikaela's Class, we have The Deacon, who places a Boon that's Circle of Healing and Shadow Step all in one, with aspects of Alan Wake's Illumination in the Unlockable Skill. Mind you, this is only at 12 meters, it is not the standard 24 meters that Boons normally have. I also wanted another healer besides the Medic, and Mikaela was featured for some reason… even if it should've been Ace instead.

Okay that's all I got. I may follow up this post with ideas for new Killers to be introduced in 2v8, but for now, I want your thoughts on these 4 Survivor Classes. Oh, and in case you were wondering what Killers I'd put into 2v8, it'd be Hag, Doctor, Clown, and Houndmaster.
