Rework scourge hooks perks into "fresh hook" perks
That sounds quite interesting, right?
In the light of the latest PTB and the proposed changes that felt like they punished the killer for playing "wrong" (tunneling) instead of incentivizing them for playing "correctly" (spreading hooks), a though hit me.
In order to change a behavior, the alternative should be something that makes you feel better, more rewarded and more satisfied when you do it. Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is a typical example of something that gives this feeling. There are few things in the game that is more satisfying than hitting that scourge hook and hearing the survivor scream at the gen. It's a very satisfying perk to use which I believe is a reason why it's so popular.
I have a proposal:
How about reworking the Scourge Hook category of perks into a Fresh Hook category of perks? Each time you fresh hook a survivor, the perk triggers, just like Scourge Hooks, but for any hook on the map and with unlimited uses. With this change, the killer could come up with builds where spreading hooks could even be more effective than straight tunneling. The perks would obviously not be as strong per hook as the scourge hooks are today, but the devs could balance it as to where it is a real competitor to tunneling in terms of efficiency.
