Alternate Myers Rework

instead of discussing the controversial current myers rework, i want to give my own take on a rework to his power while hopefully staying truthful to his current preferred playstyle and movie counterpart.

Stalker Mode and Pursuer Mode should stay as is, except for the following:

  • The Shape can stalk Survivors within 16 meters while in Pursuer Mode
  • The Shape can re-enter Stalker Mode while Evil Incarnate is fully charged
  • Stalker Mode moves at 4.4m/s (rework addon that increases stalker mode speed)
  • Stalker Mode can stalk at unlimited range
  • Evil Incarnate stalk progress does not decay

Evil Incarnate:

  • Survivors become Exposed for 60 seconds upon activation
  • The Shape has a 32m Terror Radius
  • The Pursuer Mode vault, break speed and lunge bonuses are doubled (30%, 20%, 20%)
  • While Evil Incarnate is charged or currently being used, reveal the auras of Survivors within line of sight of any active Illusion (explained below)

now for the new mechanics:

Special Ability: Illusions

After stalking a Survivor for x seconds in Stalker Mode, The Shape will spawn an Illusion in his current position. Illusions are invisible and become inactive when a Survivor is within 16 meters. The Shape is invisible while within 6 meters of an active Illusion. Only one Illusion may be spawned per Survivor.
(An Illusion is indistinguishable from the real Myers)

Special Ability: Teleport

The Shape can teleport to any active Shadow while he is not in line of sight of any Survivor. Teleporting grants x seconds of Undetectable and removes the Shadow. This ability has no cooldown.

its relatively simple but i think it would add a layer of paranoia to survivors - never knowing if the myers you see far away is really there stalking, or if its an illusion tracking you for myers to capitalise on later. for the killer side it greatly rewards players who can find stalk angles from long or obscured distances, keeping constant tabs on survivors and knowing the perfect opportunity to make their move with an instadown.

Illusions sounds very interesting and creepy. How would you differentiate this rework from Unknown?

unknown hallucinations are a lot more useful during a chase as well as directly acting as slowdown/a side objective for survivors. they make themselves readily apparent and the unknown player has far more control over their exact placement across the entire map

an illusion is more to sow paranoia and take survivor eyes away from other angles where a stealthy myers can approach, or act as an angle of approach by itself if placed sneakily enough and is almost literally impossible to be used mid chase
