POST-PTB KRASUE - Why?
Before reading on; I would like to say that, in my opinion, this PTB had some of the best quality of life improvements out of all posted test builds. IMO, nothing from this PTB needed to be changed. The anti-tunnel changes made the game more fun and basically playable for a veteran like me. Her original PTB power was fine the way that it was.
It's been awhile since I've had genuine fun playing this game so coming from the live servers; I actually wanted to stay in the PTB.
I began losing my interest in this game when the changes were made to increase kill breaking speed across the board as well as the changes to activate bloodlust sooner. Those are low-key the biggest changes that have ever been made, IMO, that have affected all survivors, killers, powers, etc. whether they even notice it or not. All players had to refine their muscle memory and looping tactics when those changes were made. As long as killers break faster and gain bloodlust faster, ALL killers and their powers will feel overly oppressive. Which leads to players complaining about things that lead developers on a wild goose chase to find the balance for everyone.
Below I've pasted the after patch killer changes. I've used strike-out on changes that most players probably won't notice as well as others that don't seem like they would have that drastic of an effect. I've entered an explanation under changes that are concerning.
New Killer: The Krasue
NEW KILLER POWER:
- Shortened the wind-up of Intestinal Whip to 0.2 seconds (was 0.35).
That should say 0.2 second not seconds with an s. Now this just feels like The Nemesis exploit where you can charge your whip from around or behind a corner. In the PTB, the killer felt very fluid. I noticed that it did look like the killer sometimes just barely missed her Intestinal Whip hits and needed a little help. The 0.2 second might as well be removed entirely and just let her wind up instantly because that's what it feels like. It feels like she can tap her button with no charge and it just hits you. The 0.15 seconds is too much, the 0.35 was fine how it was.
- Increased Intestinal Whip turn-rate to 220 (was 150).
If this means that the killer's turn rate is faster than I'm not sure how I feel about this. As I stated before, everything about the killer was fine in the PTB so this is just a needless change. Let me ask you another question, does this turn rate match the new Myers Slaughtering Strike turn rate? Does it match the Oni Demon Dash turn rate? Maybe there should be one fluid turn rate for all movement killers?
- Decreased Corporeal Weave time to shift from Head Form to Body Form to 2.2 seconds (was 2.6).
So now they can shift out of there body form faster than before. So players using the fact that her body falls away from her head form and mind gaming at pallets. This change only makes that mind game more easy to perform and win. In a game like this, 0.4 seconds can be seen and felt easily. If the head form already moves faster than body form why do we need this buff?? This means before we were shifting from 115% speed to 120% speed and it took 2.6 seconds to do so. Those 0.4 seconds are going to be what prevents survivors from making the pallet.
- Added collision with Survivors during Headlong Flight.
The Ghoul's ability to leap in front of you and block where you are going or your destination; is that killer's most hated feature. Why can't that just be The Ghoul's thing? I don't even think the Ghoul should be able to do it either. While were on the topic of Headlong Flight, why did we bring her lower to the ground?? It literally makes this killer feel invisible. In fact I thought she was bugged and was invisible because it didn't feel like the same killer I faced in the PTB. All in all, these tweaks in unison have created an entirely different killer.
- Added the ability to vault during Headlong Flight at the cost of ending the action.
IMO, the Headlong Flight should be used to catch up to survivors. If you're doing this change than you might as well give it to The Lich because last I checked he can Fly through a window as much as he wants with no drawback… This killer shouldn't feel like she has a better speed-up than The Wraith.
Added input buffering on Head Form abilities.Intestinal Whip will now ignore obstructions for0.6 seconds.Increased vault time while in Head Form to1.7seconds(was 1.5)Increased the initial number of Headlong Flight charges to12(was 10).Decreased the initial number of Glowing Fungus to4(was 6)and maximum number to8(was 10).
NEW KILLER ADD-ONS:
- Rotten Swine:
- Increased the breaking and damaging speed to 15% (was 10).
I have always thought that add-ons like this are stupid because it ends up being overkill when the killer uses an add-on like this paired with perks with the same effects. Breaking/damaging should have nothing to do with killer powers and has no place being an add-on. This is like Flashlights having an add-on that increase vault speed. It just doesn't make sense. Not to mention the killer break speed buffs that were introduced awhile back. All of these working in tandem are just overkill.
- Mysterious Elixir:
- Windows will also be blocked if you vault in Body Form.
Regardless if add-ons have other effects. Perk effects just have no place in an add-on.
Wriggling Parasite:Increased the growth rate to Leeched IIto16%(was 10).Removed the cleansing rate increase.
Crumpled Sheet Music:Increased the number of charges gained to12(was 10).
Chicken Head:Now spawns2additional Glowing Fungus at the start of the match.
Framed NewspaperDecreased the number of charges gained to6(was 10)and the recharge rate to15%(was 25).
First Libretto:Increased Headlong Flight's consumption rate to30%(was 20).
NEW KILLER PERKS:
Wandering EyeIncreased range of aura-reveal to20/20/20 meters(from 16/16/16).
P.S. Why did we remove the Off the Record endurance if you didn't go live with anti-tunnel changes?????
