Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Tips how to counter Krasue

While we all will wait for her more likely ongoing nerf, I tried to collect some advices that can makes your matches more bearable, if u trying to play the game. Something was my own notes from PTB and release experience, something I noticed on streams of Puffalope and Mulder, while they were testing this killer. I haven’t tested all builds I wrote here out yet and some of them more like a propose, so I’ll keep editing this post for better info. But I really insist on trying mix of anti-tunnel/reset or anti-tunnel/stealth builds.

All things I figured out yet:

  1. Stealth when she is flying. It seems she is really bad in hearing audio compared to Spirit and your breath is muffled for her. I haven’t used her fly a lot in PTB and didn’t buy her yet for release, so if I’m wrong, please correct.
  2. It seems means necessary can prevent her vaulting, as I noticed on one stream. Wait until she’ll change her form.
  3. Lithe is useless. Without a joke, even Smash hit will be better. Dead Hard is the best exhaustion against her apparently, but highly ping dependant. Best attempt of use: baiting for window vault or pallet drop, because somehow she is able to bite through dash even without high ms. If killer has 50-80, it’s already enough.
  4. If u can, try to bodyblock to help infected survivors
  5. Styptic and syringe are pretty uselles, and syringe might be used only as slug prevention for your teammate or for endgame. Good Krasue more likely won’ t allow u to be healed in chase. For med kits, it’s better to use add-ons for more charges, because u have to stealth and reset a lot. Prioritize giving mushrooms for survivors with hook stages.
  6. She is good in tunneling. Since unnecessary hook stages HUD release and upcoming anti tunnel changes u know what’s going to happen. So when u unhook teammate, give him mushroom straight away.

Best builds against her

To avoid tunnel: OTR/DS, Sprint Burst/DH, Self-care/Iron will + every other optional perk, like Botany Knowledge or something that might help u for looping her longer. Med kit.

For looping:Smash hit/DH, Any Means Necessary, Resudal Manifest, Ghost notes/ Champion of Light. Flashlight. It seems it’s hard to avoid flashlight when she is in head form, but use it only when u actually experienced players. She can punish for misplay in second.

For baiting/prerun and safe gen repair: Sprint burst, Ghost notes, Lightweight, Deja Vu

Stealth: OTR, Distortion, Poised, Iron Will

Altruism (supposed u are the person who wants to help your less experienced duo if u are playing SFW, or somehow killer don’t usually targetting you): For the people/Do no Harm, We’re gonna live forever, Shoulder the Burden, Mettle of Man. I’m not sure about Mettle of Man, does it gives stacks when Krasue bite u in head form while u aren’t infected or not. This build is still theoretical and I’ll change my post after testing, but I’ll keep it in case someone will do it faster than me.

Meme build (why not): Diversion, Quick and Quite with Head On and Dance with me. This build somehow confused really a lot of Krasue I played against, and idk was it MMR joke or what. Probably the easiest killer to bait for it, because many players will try to use fly after using LOS with u and this build can help with buying u mote time. In current situation really risky, but in strong SFW one person can freely allow to do such little joke.

Overall, I think gen rush perks isn’t the best way to play her now despite many lobbies testing new perk with eager interest, because she can snow ball extremely well. Teams would be much more safe if majority will equip DS and perks for stealth or quick reset.

When killer changes form to the head, her body “shell” leaves new mushroom. Keep it in mind.

About looping her:

Remember, she also can use checkspots! As I noticed, because of 3rd person feature, less people faking their red stain. But they have a tendency for AFK fake and can seriously punish rushing survivor. Change loop only when u have distance over distance of her dash AND figured out where other loop is. Or when u somehow forced her to break pallet.

Don’t waste pallets until infection. She will infect u anyway and u’ll be broken, so until u aren’t sure it’ll be double infection and hit or u can stun her, DON’T drop anything. Better faking it, especially if u see animation of charging ability

Best loops is when u can connect window + palette in relatively short distance, so she can’t catch u on scamper. Palette + Pallet is much weaker combination

As I noticed, now instead of stucking on texture, she can slide. Works like Wesker hug tech but with bigger hitbox and controllable curve. So, if u noticed killer put her head in weird direction straight to the texture, I suggest avoiding tight hug on loop.

However, when she use scamper, u have to hug tiles really accurate. That’s the only way to have one-two more runs around.

I hope u won’t lose your mind while waiting for nerf guys. Please, don't dc straightforward until u aren't all 4 slugged. It's extremely toxic towards teammates and u force them for go next or on match without chances. Being downed 3 times aren’t extremely big deal especially if u were recovered and had time for rotation. If u aren’t sure in playing against her it’s better to avoid first week of new patch at all. I’ve seen same survivor dcing twice in one night, that’s just outrageous how some people ready to spoil any attempts of fun even for their teammates just for personal comfort…

If u have some more ideas for counterplay in mind, it would be nice to see it as some comments. I hope I helped to make this patch less frustrating for someone
