How To Fix Krasue's "Scamper" Problem

It's no secret that Krasue's release has been… seismic, shall we say?

The crux of the issue seems to be her pallet vault: it translates to free hits way too easily in Head Form and makes her chase feel entirely un-interactive. Most of the time, when a Killer gets too many free hits because of their pallet vault they're HEAVILY penalised for it by major nerfs. I think there's an opportunity here to do something interesting using Krasue's infection mechanic to rein in the strength of her powered vault and make it feel more unique to her thematically at the same time.

My suggestion is as follows:

  • Regurgitation applies a new status effect to pallets when the initial gobbet of gore hits them: Rotten.
  • Head form’s pallet vault can only be used when the dropped pallet is Rotten.
  • Glowing Mushrooms can be consumed at a Rotten pallet to remove the Rotten status after 20s.

Forcing the Killer to tactically choose which pallets to infect ahead of time (or waste time and leave mushrooms everywhere mid chase) would give the Scamper system far more depth. The Survivors would know which pallets she can "Scamper" and which she can't, the Survivors could use any excess mushrooms to remove Rot from the most important pallets, and the Head Form vault could still feel impactful without being so ubiquitously strong.
