SoloQ Has Enough Information
I know, bit of a hot take, but I firmly believe SoloQ has all the information it needs.
You have a lot of tells in this game, such as
- The Terror Radius
- Who's being chased
- Who's doing what
- Emotes
- The status of the healing/Generator progress a Survivor is actively performing (as well as Totems)
- Hook Stages
- Generator Count
Because of all of this, a SoloQ Survivor has all of the information needed to make a move, it's just that THEY need to connect the dots, not the game itself.
For me, the reason why SoloQ is hellish is because of two things:
- Matchmaking
- Selfish Teammates
The first one, yeah, that's more on BHVR. The invisible numbers that set forth the game are unknown and unreadable. Sometimes you get an AFK Killer, other times ya get steamrolled.
The second part is also an issue, but BHVR can't fix it (outside of Escape Challenges). They can lead a horse to the Hook, but they can't force them to Unhook. When SoloQing, you don't have your buddies in your ear on a Discord call, it's just you, your emotes, and your Status HUD.
In my games, I never let anybody go to second stage because I'm proactive when I'm playing SoloQ. I can't just say "Can someone get 'em?" and have a buddy go and rescue, I gotta be on top of things. I need to be the one to connect the dots to know what I need to do.
And that's the thing. SoloQ has all the information to allow people to connect the dots, but you still actually have to do it.

Sometimes the HUD can be more of a hindrance than a help because so many people refuse to take Kindred in solo queue.
For example, someone is on the hook and I'm on a 75% gen not far from the hook. I'm the closest person, obviously I should go for the save. I decide to finish the gen and then go. My teammate (who doesn't have Kindred in solo queue because he's a complete dumbass), sees that I'm on a gen and decides to run from the miles away to get the save instead of doing a gen.I've lost count of the number of times teammates have thrown games or played very inefficiently because they lack information.
Maybe one day the devs will make Kindred basekit like they themselves suggested many years ago. Until then, solo queue will continue to suck.

When SWF exists, and players can just use comms to convey anything, this isn't a hot take, it's a braindead take.
Solo survivors still need, at bare minimum:
- A way to see their teammates' perks, either in lobby, during the game, or both
- A way to communicate intentions that doesn't involve voice chat
Bringing solo queue closer to SWF makes balancing the game easier overall, which it desperately needs due to BHVR's self inflicted wounds.

Thats not really true. Yh you dont let someone go second, but just going for the unhook yourself is not the most efficient play.
You dont have any info about deliverance, wicked or even the anti-camp.
You dont have any info about te guy finishing the gen next to the hooked guy bc 70 seconds is a long time.
You dont have any info about the guy crouching next to the DMSed gen.
...
Dont get me wrong bad teammates are a bigger hindrance in solo q than info. You also can get quite a lot of info in the current game and most survivor dont use it.
But it is not enough info. You will do misplays which would never occur with comms. And some of them are easy to fix (deliverance for example).
