Why was monitor and abuse nerfed?
In the course of 8 years this perk has existed
How come only now did this perk received a nerf all of a sudden?

Not that I'm defending the nerf - I think it's pretty unnecessary even if the perk is still pretty good - but it is worth pointing out that the game changed around M&A.
For instance, multiple killers got changed terror radius sizes, some bigger some smaller, and that affects how good the perk is on them. It's not impossible that M&A could end up being too good on certain killers after changes like that.

Answer yes for short terror radius killers like hag,pig, tier 2 mayers it reduce their terror radius (further tr) by 6 meters and before it was 8, now it increses killers terror radius when they are in chase by shorter distance than before and 32 meters tr killers by the same number 8 meters and more for 40 meters terro radius killers but this in my opinion isnt worth running on 40 meters tr killer (wesker,ghoul,billy,krasue) because all of them exept wesker have good mobility and for wesker there are better perks to make him stealthy then monitor and abuse.

Because BHVR loves their S and A tiers and wants to cater to them.
Because the ONLY killers that benefit from this are Wesker, Hillbilly, T3 Myers, Head Form Krasue and Blight. (All A or S tiers except Myers)
As for the ones who ACTUALLY used it, Skull Merchant, Hag, T2 Myers and Pig, well they can go and run Insidious apparently.

nerfing an anti-prerun perk for low TR killers that get destroyed by pre-running (hag, skull merchant, onryo) is already certainly a bad choice but then also BUFFING it for high TR killers that don't care about getting pre-run (billy, ghoul, blight) is just insane. i would love to hear the explanation for it.

The old monitor was better because it reduced terror radius and then increased it when being in chase so it created more psychological preasure on survivors especialy the unexperienced ones (the hud buff nerf it because you can see if someone is chased which only had obsesion but now everybody has that indicator to the terror radius increase wont help you that much against experienced survivors). Now the perk is hood on oni maybe but lower tr killers like hag,mayers arent so benefit by it.

Isn't increase in chase lower than before for 32m TR? I expect they lowered it, so it doesn't get too high on 40m TR killers.
So it was nerfed even for Oni, where it was actually decent perk combined with Infectious Fright.

Looks like balance team doing its work but they kinda forget those lower terror radius killers you mentioned arent as good and struggle way more then those big terror radius killers like blight,ghoul,billy.

Just makes me sad. Stealth builds based around lowering the TR instead of gaining undetectable were fun. Monitor and Dead Rabbit on Myers was one of my favorite "shut your brain off" builds. They killed that build twice over now…
