Official stats still aren't tracking escape rates correctly
Official stats still aren't tracking escape rates correctly. This is on the Steam version of the game, and there isn't a way to easy record it, because testing this is a process that takes at least a day to do.
Step 1: Don't play the game for at least 1-2 days, so that the official stat tracker is completely up to date.
Step 2: Go to your official survivor stats for All Time, and write down the number of Total Escapes and the number of Total Matches played.
Step 3: As you play survivor games, write down if you escaped or were killed, and write down if you abandoned the game, and write down if the killer DCed or abandoned the game.
Step 4: Play at least one game where you were going to be sacrificed, but you pressed the abandon button before that happens. This should be easy to do, because the game has so many scenarios that give the abandon button.
Step 5: Play at least one game where the killer DCs.
Step 6: Wait 1-2 days, until the official stats update the All time section with these new games. This is important because the Recent Match History updates almost immediately, but the All time page can take 1-2 days to update.
Step 7: Compare the current number of Total Escapes and the name of Total Matches played, with the numbers you wrote down. Notice the official stats do not include any games where you pressed the abandoned button (even if you were literally 3 seconds away from being sacrificed), and the official stats do not include any games where the killer DC'd.
TD;LR Summary:
- If the survivor presses the abandon button, the official stats won't count the game at all, which means that survivor's Escape Rate won't be affected even though the survivor was literally going to be sacrificed that game. The official stats should count these games, and note them as not an escape, so a survivor's escape rate can go down when they abandon a game.
- If a killer DCs, the official stats won't count the game at all, even though the survivor functionally escaped. The official stats should count these games, and note them as an escape, so a survivor's escape rate can go up when the killer DCs in a game.

This is functioning as intended; DCs and abandoning matches are not tracked, since your and their MMR is not affected.
