Was this poor matchmaking intentional?

My partner handed me the controller today in one of her first games of killer because she was having some trouble with it, and no wonder!

Im curious about whether this matchmaking is intentional - her account is on a different profile on the same playstation as my high rank account. Is this some kind of Anti-Smurfing tactic, or is it an error?

I Look forward to hearing some thoughts =)

it maybe poor matchmaking or it was a SWF group.

@NekoGamerX Even against a SWF team, I expect the killer's rank is between the best and the worst of the survivors' ranks, ie, in that case, 2-15: 20 is not reasonable...

The game, which includes the matchmaking system, simply has not been designed for SWF. Its no secret that SWF breaks the game in multiple ways

It's broken matchmaking. That's an SWF team, while usually the killers rank is in between the survivors rank the matchmaking just breaks sometimes because of the way it's set up. It searches for a range of killer ranks and expands that range if it can't find a game. So because of the rank 16 survivor your wife got pulled into that match. I'm a rank 16 killer and it's happened to me a few times. It's why you hear people complain about the matchmaking.

My friends and I are red rank survivors and we got pulled into a rank 16 killer match. And this was a 4 man SWF all red ranks, that rank 16 killer never should have been in our search parameters. How is that fair to them? It was very obvious to us he was struggling but we had thought he had just ranked too fast as it was at the end of the last double blood point event. Matches like that are disheartening and can make those players not want to play again.

    It's SWF.

The actual matchmaking only take the SWF host's rank into account.

So if you are rank 20 and you invite your rank 1 friends, you will still be matched against a rank 20-15 killer.

    Seems about right...

Ideally SWF should be matched to the highest players Rank but that's not how the devs want it i guess.
I can't count the number of times I'm watching someone play and they ask to play with lower ranked friends just to get lower ranked killers when they themselves are rank 1.

Just a side note too, that rank 16 seems suspicious with those perks.

I'm devotion 6 and this never has benn fixed.
I observed a lot of survivors on console who stay in low ranks just to avoid experienced killers and go swf because everyone knows the mm is #########.
Feelsbad for you bro, kinda unfair.

Most likely they met on reddit or some community and the rank 16 is the host they are probably swf piggybacking on the low ranks matchmaking. Also good for you slapping the toxic out of that rank 2.
